It's that time of year again...so who's going, and what are ya after?
We'll be going up monday 30th nov, but for the first time I really don't think I need anything.
So I'm probably gonna come back with nothing - unless impulse kicks in.

You after anything but holding off til the show?

Last year I went to see a few new bikes - R1, R1M, RC390 and obviously H2 and H2R.

For me there is nothing new and interesting to see this year imho.

I'm going, I'm after Sidis. Maybe a black visor with pinlock for the Shark. Has to be genuine article though
and that won't be cheepz, about 100 quid with insert. May spend the visor money (plus a little more) on a
Skwal lid in matte and gloss black instead. I know they are childish, but then again so am I and I think they look cool.
Won't be long before you can get red/clear inserts to change the colour of the lights. I think only the lenses are green.
Might get some handroids too if the price is right, I love those things.
Been holding off of spending any money on kit for a while.

I'll be going on the last day, after a lid and some gloves. Maybe a new onesie if I can find a good one.

^^^ this.

Picked up a new lid last year and went to see the H2R. Did want to go this year but can't really justify it.

Will be going, probably Monday or Tuesday at a guess. There partly for a meeting, and will have a mooch and see what's around. New ZX10R looks nice, I need some new boots (still) and wouldn't mind some tartiness for the bike, but have other things to sort before hand.

Not had an invite from Honda this year, money must be tight in Chiswick, won't go as a civilian. Nothing there that I can't see at the dealers, better bling and gear bargains on E-Bay.

I am going. Only because I want my 5 year old son to try the "My first Honda" thing.

If there are some nice deals to be had then that's a bonus.

I want to see the new Africa Twin, didn't go last year so want to go as it is more a ritual than a need, but if people stop going it will stop being.

Used to be a good show in bikings glory days in the late 90's and early noughties. But when the economy went belly up, the shows did too, both in size and scale, and what the manufacturers had to offer too.

I've been eight times since 94, and seen everything I've wanted to see, and bought a fair bit of kit there too.

I'd not go to a show now though, just to show support to keep an overpriced event going for no wow factor and the feeling that I've seen and done better in the past.

I was 16 when I first went, so that was about 1990.
It was one of the handful of times where I did something with my Dad that didn't also earn me an unnecessary thumping,
rose tinted specs or not I always said I'd take my kid along one day and that is never to be, but it was a standout
pleasurable memorable moment in my youth. Theres a picture of me sat on the first red white and blue NSR 125
which was Hondas latest learner legal effort at the time, I thought it looked way better than the red or
white variants sold up to that time. I wanted that bike so badly but never had the dough. The best I can
manage is taking the wifes younger brothers along instead, but that won't be this year now, maybe next time.

Not sure about that. I haggled £50 off a pair of SMX-R booties, £30 off GP-one gloves and got a half price Shoei on the last day over the last few years.

If you can haggle on the last day, it's worth a trip.

It's always been silly prices to park, eat, and get into the show though. I used to live 25mins drive away, and am now about 40min away, but id only ever go on the train to such an event now to avoid parking fee's but also the congestion and queues to get in or out.

I do remember going on my CB500S one year and seeing my first bike parked there a couple of years after I sold it. J541TOC I hope your still around lots of happy times! Very Happy

I had a stomach bug the weekend of the dirtbike show so was pissed at not going in the end, but the next decent off road show that's on I'll be there.

Best ever show for me overall must be the BMF though, had many happy trips there, and still remember the time I saw the fastest RG500 in the uk as I left too.

There's 3 in my car, and I prebooked so only paid a tenner to park instead. I think
a tenner is a fair whack for a full days parking a few minutes walk from the event so don't mind paying it.
I'd rather take a 4 wheeled trip there,it means I'm not limited to small items if I get the shopping bug.
If you're only going to sightsee and not to shop and it's just you, then take the bike, don't think bikes get charged to park.

I've been the last few years and enjoyed it. But the journey down via the Great M6 Carpark has got beyond a joke. So I will skip the NEC and try the Manchester Show this time.
