Died yesterday, only 61. I always thought he was a proper character but I recently read Lemmy's book, White Line Fever about his time working with Philthy and the stories about his exploits are epic.

RIP crazy stoopid drummer guy.

Sad. Amazing he made it to that age really. Motorhead are on my playlist constantly, still can't beat Overkill - playing the drums once on that track alone, and never mind all the rock 'n' roll high jinks, would likely kill me!

Wow. Most rockers who've gone OTT with the drugs, and haven't vomited themselves to death or OD'd in their twenties, live to ripe old age and look healthier than the average person.

RIP

In the book Lemmy tells how, many years ago, he heard Keith Richards had had his blood changed for the sake of his health. Realising he needed to do the same Lemmy had tests in peparation to have his own blood changed.

The Doc came back with results and said Lemmy could not have the procedure because his blood was "no longer human" and clean blood would kill him.

So, he's looking pretty ropey these days, not surprisingly though he is 70.

Stop telling me how old all my rock 'n' roll heroes are! Whaddya want, that I should accept my own age? I'll always picture them as they were in their heyday, otherwise they can't be heroes anymore. In fact, I think I'd prefer it if I never knew they died.

Oh well, maybe they're all up there throwing tvs out of heaven's window and blowing up the bogs Laughing

Don't worry Chickenstripgeezer, age is an irrelevance.

As for blowing up bogs, there are storms forecast for the next few days. That'll be Philthy knock knock knocking on heaven's door ready for some mischief.

I don't actually believe in heaven, I just wanted to misappropriate a Bob Dylan lyric

The.. The what now? What have I missed? Crying or Very sad

Anyone know what did him in? All I can see is reference to "an illness", which isn't very rock 'n' roll.

'Ace of spades' and '(We are) the roadcrew' have been on the mp3 mix whilst I'm riding for a while.

To be honest, I'm amazed that I haven't totalled it into a lamppost or something

Genuine legend. Motorhead were never the same without him. As a kid, loved the way he chewed gum and didn't give a shit Laughing

Heard a while ago that he wasn't well, didn't realise it was this serious.
