30hrs played so far.

It's better than the previous Fallouts.

All to easy to find yourself with a million missions/quests.

Strong is a dickhead.
Dog Meat is cool with his welding goggles.
I've nearly run out of ammo :/

Spent hours just building myself a house in Sanctuary.
Game is good - playing on Hard and keep getting myself messed up.
Found the key is to get some armoured clothing on ASAP (And upgrade it at the bench)
Junk is no longer junk and has a use, so collect everything !
Game is fun, really enjoying it.
I've nearly run out of ammo :/

The amount of stuff I have in the inventories is ridiculous.

I have boxes in sanctuary for:-
clothing
weapons (one each for pistols, rifles, heavy, ammo, melee)
food stuffs
chemical aid
and Misc stuff.

Do you guys sell your stuff for caps to buy ammo, or is it possible to make ammo?

Bought fallout for xbone. Don't have an xbone yet. Been playing Skyrim in the mean time to prepare.

Sell stuff, and use the Scrounger perk. You can't make your own, unless you're using the Junk Jet or the Syringer Rifle.

This may force me to buy a PS4 at last. After Christmas of course. I fuggin loved Fallout3 and New Vegas.
Really appealed to my natural hoarding tendencies in real life.

I got it the other day, I was impressed it ran so well on my system (although I might just have to treat myself to a new graphics card and bump all the settings up to high).

I've only just got back to Sanctuary, but I get the feeling I'll be restarting because I've been dropping some of the (what I thought would be) useless junk Rolling Eyes

Never got round to completing 3 or NV.... but I might need start playing them again after this

About 20 hours dropped into it so far. Science!, Gun Nut and Armourer perks are a must.

I love the new weapon, armour and power armour modding, and power armour in general is seriously cool. I've been hoarding so much junk Laughing

Top tip - actually scrap the junk items you find, don't just dump it straight into the workbench. If you need 1 Circuitry to make a weapon mod for example, and the game uses a Military circuit board (contains 5 circuitry) the other 4 bits are not broken down and disappear.

It's tedious to have to drop all your junk on the floor and scrap it in workshop mode in your settlement but you get much more out of your junk by liquidating it.

The game definitely needs the ability to press your own ammo a la The Pitt in Fallout 3 - it'll most likely come out with a DLC.

It's alright, they used the Fallout 3/NV engine there (I think) so it feels the same but it is not. The pipboy interface changed (not happy), the other menus also changed (again, not happy). All that considered, 8/10 (so far).

Fallout 1: 10/10
Fallout 2: 7/10
Fallout 3: 9.5/10 (too short)
Fallout NV (plus all the DLCs): 10/10 The same gameplay as Fallout 3 with added content that made it perfect. Thumbs Up
Fallout 4: 8/10 (6/10 now)

I did play Fallout Tactics back in the day, but it was crap and I never finished it.

EDIT @ Fallout 4: 8 hours in, the game is somehow simplified, the weapons are not degrading, the combat is rather simple and easy (gonna try harder setting later, if possible), the loading times are long and the ''build your crib'' stuff is completely unnecessary. They also changed the way perks and skills worked before and I'm not a fan of the new system of talking. You know, when there's an option that is yellow for instance. I liked it in the previous games where you were told by a number if you were gonna be successful or not at persuading someone for instance. Also, I died only once so far, falling from great height. The radiation/poisoning is not a problem anymore.
Fallout 4: 6/10 (I'm gonna finish the game, but it feels like they made it more accessible to younger players, which is wrong)

Picked up my copy today, really enjoying it. Girlfriend bought me assasins creed for my birthday though and she has always hated fallout games, so I'm having to play a bit of both on and off. Just got the power armour and mini gun.

A whole day wasted because of this game. Do weapons degrade on this game.

If this is a question, then no, they do not degrade. No need to carry around 5 the same weapons, as you would have in the F3/NV to fix your weapons on go. Thumbs Down

The game is more of a first person shooter rather than an rpg/adventure.

No need to worry, as you gain xp. points you may add them to the first seven basic stats you picked at the beginning of the game.

Also 30 hours in - it's the only game i play. As a way to lose 4 hours on a evening, it's great - plenty to do.

If ( like me ) you're inherently lazy ...... open the console up and type tgm

At that point you can jump off whatever you like / kill zombies with your bare knuckles and not have to deal with tedious death.

Xbone now acquired, courtesy of Mr. lihp. Will report back after a week of binge playing.

This.

No skills. No Karma. The controls look they were designed for a joypad. This feels like console FPS shit.

Meh.

I debated whether to play it with a joypad. I'm a PC user.

Within a minute or 2 of starting, I realised it was one of "those" games. "those" being a game that causes motion sickness, I NEVER get car sick in real-life, but am susceptible to some games. Sitting back with a joypad can help, but I prefer keyboard and mouse.

Managed to change FOV, and once I was down in the vault and could move faster it helped. Hasn't cured it completely though, but can manage about an hour or so before I have to give in and give up.

Hasn't crashed all day though and I haven't had to dick about with any config files.
Besides, only using a 720p screen anyway.

Only gripe so far are the bullshit cinematics, same as Skyrim, does a slow motion killshot and it ends up missing for no reason. I'm sure you could turn them off on fallout 3.
