Maybe oil, possibly fluids but definitely rider error in most cases.
Some of them quite embarrassing to watch.

The ring isn't dangerous for motorcycles per se. It is, however, too dangerous for my wallet. If you're considering going, do a bit of research into what you can potentially be charged if you crash on the track. Wink

I tell you what, those guys running on the track from 1:40 onwards have some balls, knowing there's oil on that bend and vehicles hurtling towards them. I see that they were trying to warn others, but fuck that.

Reminds me of the last time I binned a bike, on an oil patch on Bond Street outside Louis Vuitton, just where you're leaning to turn into Clifford Street. https://goo.gl/maps/9HoR7autv4N2 As I was inspecting the damage and bending the levers straight two other people fell on the same patch. (They were on scooters tho, so it didn't really matter.) It's very similar to the Ring - Porsches everywhere, no run off area. But there's no fee, it's easier to get to and ambulances are much quicker to arrive. A nice lady from Dior even brought me a cup of tea. Thumbs Up All in all, Bond Street beats the Nurburgring hands down.

I've always wanted to take something entirely inappropriate to the green hell, like a Honda ANF125 in Dominos Pizza livery, just to see how fast I could go.
