Unfortunately it's just over 150 miles away, which I'd prefer not to travel down there to find out it's either a lemon or has a common fault (not sure if it was this model, because of a design fault, could have a cracked frame)

This is the listing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291602746710?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Anyway, I was wondering if there was anyone local to the area could go and have a look at it for me

True.... kind of like the 19 year old bike I had with 7,500 miles or the 22 year old bike I have at the moment with 34,000

Lots of bikes are garage queens and only get taken out on sunny Sundays.

I was going to ask why go to a dealer, but that's actually an OK price compared to private sales closer to hand.

Presumably you'll be having a cheeky bid on this one if it stays low:

Did they sort the frame cracking issue? Not sure if that was just the slightly older ones or not though.

Why worry about them sorting an issue that, in the grand scheme of things, probably wont affect you Wink

30k now but its tucked up all snug in my garage now awaiting some current bun....... is this dodgy? or should i rack another 6k on it before it becomes 'dodgy' Shocked Shocked Shocked

Rolling Eyes Ride it more often' otherwise it seems a waste of owning/buying one' i do at least 25,000 miles a year & maintain to a very high standard. some worthless 16 yr old pikey on another forum who cleans/polishes his bike & only rides it once a month came along & spotted "a bit of dirt" on my bike's body panels with discolored stainless exhaust...opened his big trap & said it didn't look like i gave a shit about it & didn't maintain it very well after id given everything up to continue spending to this day - over 4 grand on it Evil or Very Mad

What's the total if you do 25k a year?

Digital dash has read 99,999 for a long time' no point in paying out £££ for a new dash or useless mechanic to fail rewinding it every time it reaches those numbers. i also have another bike for when the current one breaks down or i fancy a go on it, & that 1 has covered 68,000 miles by myself.

I always assumed they went round the clock and started at 0 again.

I appreciate we're going off topic here but can we see some pictures of these bikes with starship mileages?

I am quite happy to keep my shiny 16 yr old bike tucked up away from all the salt and rain and not spend a fortune on it to keep it to the same standard as you claim to have done. And have a resalable value far higher than your 250000 mileage bike.

My bike is for fun, i dont commute. I have had plenty of days out on the Welsh hills this year to fuel my needs. But my bike is not "dodgy" as you put it........

Knew someone was going to fire away with that simplistic question' won't be uploading any pictures of my bike's or their dashboard instruments to the internet. as Pol Arnol said "no one is anonymous on the internet" i don't take chances with too informative photos anymore Folded arms bet yall jump on the band wagon & start piling in with the "pics or it didn't happen lecture" along with karma bashing - goes both ways Thumbs Down Middle Finger have fun derailing the thread with that shit. Anyone who does this goes on my ignore list so i don't have to read their constant bullshit.

Calm down dear, I only asked.

Custard test. Now.

You don't even have to show us a picture of you, or your bike. Simply post a picture of a tin of Bird's next to your epic 99,999 odometer.

I didnt ask with any ulterior motive, I was genuinely interested what kind of condition your well maintained, high mileage bike looked liked.

Now I'm of the opinion pics or it didn't happen.
