I've got a mate, who's about to buy an RS125 with some work done to it and it apparently it'll do 120mph (until I see it, I dont believe it)...But still he's saying it'll keep up with my NC30 no issues, my bike has had a lot done to it and dyno'd at 67bhp, which is above what it should make and I've been clocked by multiple people at over 140mph. But he's insisting it will keep up till 110-115, then he said it good be quicker up to then Laughing ...hes a mechanic a for Honda dealership and it's got me a bit worried haha!

I know that the old Honda RS125's the track versions are quick as fuck for 125s and it just made me think...Could it stand a chance, could it be quicker?

I'm 99% sure i'll leave him behind but what if I dont? Laughing Laughing

The Outright 125cc TT lap record is held by Chris Palmer on a Honda RS125 in 2004, his time was 20:20.870 which is 110.52mph!

An average over one 37.7m lap, so he would have been hitting well over 120mph on the faster parts!

HTH!

Are we talking Aprilia or Honda RS125 though?

The Aprilia will not stand a chance of getting much past a true 100mph, that's going to be 20mph down on what the speedo says most likely anyway.

Even with work and more capacity the RS125 wont get past 110mph I would say and that's probably generous for a professionally tuned or big bore+ tuned example.

The VFR will over cross country riding absolutely muller the RS as well I would say. It's a compact light and sweet handling bike with a good spread of power over a wide rev range in comparison. You'll pull bike lengths out of every slow corner too, as the RS is not incredibly better handling id say, and below the power band it will be useless in comparsion.

Even a Honda RS125 would not be any quicker across country and would be running dry after 30-40miles I would think too!

Aprilia RS.

He's paying a grand for it but he's obviously getting a discount somehow haha. I really dont think it'll stand a chance, he kept saying it'll do 120 and I just laughed inside but then I was like "but what if?" haha.

Will get back to you all when he has the RS and we have a little blast hahaha Laughing

Jesus christ, nice to meet you too.

The charts aren't at this address.

It's got race diaphragms in the carbs, RO needles, drilled slides, race can and jetted to match, airfilter upgrade, lots of light weight parts etc. It's just really well looked after, they make 60bhp as standard so with some money spent on it, its no wonder it makes a little over 10%? It's not uncommon for a VFR to make more than it comes as standard.

They make 53bhp at the back wheel standard. Hence why I call bullshit on finding 14bhp without physical tuning. Also wtf are "race" diaphragms?

You own an NC with a shitty can. It won't crack 130 mph even if you rode it out the back of a plane.

Hi

120mph is going to take ~45hp at the back wheel. The early RS was set up for higher octane fuel and with a larger carb and half decent exhaust as standard managed about 28.5hp at the back wheel (later ones were less powerful).

What has been done to the RS to get around 60% more power?

That said, the speedos on many of them are mainly fitted for amusement. Had 115mph indicated on mine a few time which says more about how inaccurate it is rather than how quickly it was actually going

All the best

Katy

You're so adorable! Laughing Couldn't help but laugh at you. Who even cares?

I don't only own an beautiful gorgeous NC 30 but I also own a 2014 R1. My NC30 is the cleanest one for miles, and also the quickest. It definitely does over 135 as I've sat next to MULTIPLE people clocking me. They make 59bhp stock as well, so a wrong fact. Stop trying to put others down because they may have something nicer than you.

your NC30 will smash an RS125 all over the shop.

nor will your NC hit a genuine 140mph but it doesn't really matter because its pretty as fuck. I doubt it makes 67bhp purely on the basis of seeing a couple of fettled ediasia F400 bikes make less.

Well all I'm saying regardless of whether it can or cannot hit 140, there is substantial evidence to believe it will. I have a friend with an FZ6, he has clocked me at 140, another friend with a Gixxer 6, clocked me at 140, a street triple, clocking me at 140...i could go on but you get the point....there is enough evidence for me to say that MY Nc30 will hit 140. It may have head engine work done to it before but ive done everything I can without touching the engine.

I can promise it makes 67bhp, I'll have to dig out the dyno sheet. Theres a lot of VFR's on youtube on the dyno making good bhps. Well over what they are stock!

My 400 looks like it's been painted with a yard brush but as it's purpose is to drag my arse round a track a couple of times a year i don't care. I also don't make wild claims about it being 70 bhp.

If the R1 does 140 without breaking a sweat, why bother thrashing the tits off a 25 year old middleweight?.....

The yam probably has better brakes and geometry for those sort of speeds anyway......

I love how a Street Triple clocked you at 140. If I could get mine to do a genuine 140 I'd be amazed. With GPS it showed 134 downhill at the limiter.
