Currently sat in the airport about to fly to Prague. What do?
I know beer is around £1 a pint so that should keep me happy for the most part.
Any major attractions that I just have to see?
Staying in a hotel just off Wenceslass Square so we'll be pretty central.

Don't expect those prices everywhere. If you're right by the astro clock you won't be paying that. Be prepared to venture down some alleys and have a good explore.

There's a little tour thing right by the astro clock to go inside and up into the tower. The big bridge is right next to it (I forget the name, St Charles?) and you can look over the river and see the castle on the other side of the river, have a walk up to that perhaps.

Personally, I just enjoyed exploring all the little streets, it's mega.

Museum of Technology

Loads of MOTORBIKES and steam engines and Planes and cars. Well worth a visit. (Even if you only go to look at bikes Embarassed ).

The palace and the church inside. They charge to take photos inside the church though.

They like statues. Smile

I'll have to avoid joining the town council while I'm here!

Realised I knew nothing about how things work round here, so done some quick research:
-sit down in pubs and waiter brings beer, don't go to the bar
-tip similar to the uk
-expect to get short changed
-you can smoke in pubs and bars
-may get collar felt if you don't carry your passport

Sound about right?

I'll trot out my usual...

I went to a gun club. Cost me about £35 for a go with two different semi-auto pistols, a 10 shooter revolver and 5 rounds in a .357 magnum revolver. The "special program" ended with three rounds in a pump action shot gun.

This was way back in 2002, so I'm not sure if they still allow tourists off the street in, but here's the web address: https://www.avim.cz/index.php?lg=en&pg=info.

If my memory serves, get the yellow subway line to the florenc station and it's about 50yards down the street from the station exit.

Other than that, if Bohemia Bagels are still as good now as they were in 2002, it's well worth stopping in for a munch. Their food was spectacularly good.

Never actually fired a gun before... Told our lass and her eyes lit up though. May have to check that out!

I hadn't before, or since for that matter, but it was great fun. First go I was a bit wobbly, but by the time I got my hands on the magnum, I was hitting the target's head every time (can't remember the distance, felt like it was half a mile away, was probably 20 yards).

It was definitely something a bit different and I remember it well, even 13 years on. Nothing to lose going in and asking. I was told to ask for the "special program", hence the weapons I was given. But I think you could just ask for a specific gun and however many rounds you wanted/could afford.

Always fancied branding, is it right that you are encouraged to pick the scabs?

The brand melts the skin so picking off the scabs will only introduce risk of infection and messy scarring and bad HIV.

Probably like Tats if you pick you can smudge the 'art'. Smile

Prague was ace. There's very few places I've been on holiday and thought "I want to go back". But Prague is one of them.

Public transport is very cheap and easy, Kosel is awesome, plenty to see and do. I had a hot chocolate there so thick you could stand your spoon up in it!

Beware of drinking in "restaurants", often the advertised price for beer, is when you eat also. If you're just drinking, try to stick to the bars

Just dropped into a bar for a sit down and a drink.
"How come you don't serve beer here?"
"Well this is a gay bar you see"

Should have noticed the big pictures of men in tutus on the wall.
The banana rum I ended up ordering is great though.
