Some of you may have seen my other thread but, long story short, I fell off and the bike ain't pretty no more. I've been quoted a pretty silly price to fix it an believe I can do some myself. Bike is not in my possession at the mo, so I will need to at least pay to get it back.

Among the potentially bigger jobs are the right footrest and brake pedal, which are bent. Footrest bar and rubbers are seemingly readily available and not silly prices. Looks like the bar is held on by a few bolts and should not be too difficult to swap. In this the case?

I can't comment personally on the YBR125, but those jobs are normally pretty straight forward to do!

So I had the worst of it fixed at a substantial but slightly less silly price. The remaining issues are mainly cosmetic and I am undecided on how much to put right. One thing I have noticed though, that was not even mentioned, is that the handlebars are somewhat bent. The right grip is noticeably shifted round so that, whilst it is rideable, it does feel odd. I'm not sure whether or not I am best off just replacing it myself I know they can be had for not a huge amount. Or is it likely to be possible to bend it back without specialist tools?

Well I've gone and ordered one anyway. Shiny new Yamaha branded spare, though I'm sure I could have gotten it cheaper if I'd gone second hand and/or aftermarket.

Looks like it is going to be reasonably simple to fit, just need to make the time to do it and hope for good weather (I don't have a garage). One question though, any recommendations on adhesive to refit the grips? I think it is just the left one that needs it. I have an older version of a service manual that still seems largely relevant, which says to use "rubber adhesive". I've seen some people suggest super glue but reckon it might stick a bit to quickly.

Hairspray.
Slippy to help get the grip on and sticky after a while.
Cheap stuff, or borrow it if you are in a household where someone might have it Very Happy
