Most of us know (Should be aware) that our News Paper Reporters are inept and that they cannot get the facts straight or correct for a relatively clear and simple domestic incident that happens on 'home soil'.
If our reporters can't be trusted to get it right and simply report what happened on our streets in the UK then what chance is there of any accuracy in matters foreign?

Of course it's sexist, she only got in trouble because she couldn't park. Parking your car in a tree/wall/wall full of children/somene's wardrobe/custody suite, instead of moving it a bit down the street, is sure to attract attention of the local popo.
