Hi all,

I have a question for ye. I have a cricket bat that I paid three figures for and I was just wondering if you would believe it possible to be used in a different form for a Longbow.

Well, not strictly a longbow by the usual definition since that would be a selfbow made from a single contiguous piece.

However, I have seen a yew bow made from two pieces joined in the centre with a fine finger joint, glued and then wrapped over. You can leave the centre of the bow as thick as you want, as it shouldn't be flexing significantly anyway.

Or have a Google for "two piece longbow" or "take down longbow" for other ways to join the pieces.

if you do join it together then only use it for light target practice , it will end up as floppy as steptoes knob after moderate use.
