i was thinking of getting the sachs purely on looks but does anyone know how fast it goes top end ? 75?

Maybe a 2 stroke but they cost a bit on continous repairs as it would be second hand and that.javascript:emoticon('Question')

4t sachs - 75mph
2t sachs - 90-95 (de-res)

Look after a 2t and it will look after you, good fully synth oils, warming up properly and it wll /should/ be ok Thumbs Up

RS125 probably but it's an Aprilia so it's unreliable and parts are not always easy to get. Still if you get one that has not been thrashed I am sure you'd love it. The only other sports 125 I've look at would be the Mito though many rate the Sachs too. The CBR looks too small and quite frankly those I've spoken to who own ones (not on this board) say it's lacking somewhat.

I thought getting and riding a 125 was all about 'learning' to ride rather than how fast it goes... Confused

Personally I like the Mito but its un-reliable. Aprillia's are nice but I'd still go for the Honda mate, it won't self destruct on you if you plan to max it!

here this is my NSR125...great bike for learning on and it looks gorgeous. Also it is very reliable, have had no problems riding it throughout the winter.

Iv never had any problems with my 3 previous aprilias...Not mechanical problems anyway. If you get an RS, just make sure it aint been thrashed. and yes..parts can be a bit of a nightmare!

Speed: RS125/Mito/NSR
Relaibilty: CBR125R

I should also mention that in legal 'restricted' form they will all be quite similar (But the CBR125R will still be slower by a bit)

With 2 stroke bikes you have to adhere to bike's oil warning light to fill it's oil reservior up with 2 stroke oil again because if you don't then you can frag the engine because the 2 stroke oil mixes with the 4 star petrol so as to keep the system lubricated.

2 stroke bikes have/will be fazed out of the racing circuit because the fail to meet the strict laws on exhaust emissions and greater fuel efficiency.

The upside for 2 strokes is that they are fast off the block but 4 strokes engines are coming along in great strides to try and match the 2 stroke's fast pick up of acceleration.
