A whole bunch of claims, without one smidgen of evidence.

Put it in a scientific paper you'll be laughed at. Put it in a newspaper it's gospel.

What a cretin. He should try riding behind a Transit at 70mph if he wants to know about buffeting. Shall we ban all the square-backed vans?

You can't comment on buffeting until you learn to stop crashing into vans.

I thought that, then I read the article again.
Quote:
Peter Atcliffe, a Senior Lecturer in Aerodynamics at The University of Salford, said: ‘There is no doubt that the addition of a camera to a helmet will change the airflow around it.

Tim Shallcross is a tool though
Quote:
Tim Shallcross, Head of Technical Policy at the respected road safety charity Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) said: ‘The risk with these cameras is in thinking, “oh, I need to get the perfect shot” instead of riding sensibly and concentrating on the road.

Is he though?

Do we not see it time and time again where youtubers are putting themselves in danger in order to get the best video for their "fans"?

Surely such videos on YouTube are a great source of prosecutions for the fuzz when they are off quota....

But these must not be extrapolated to represent all riders who wear cameras. Me for instance, just ride normally, without trying to get the perfect shot.

This isn't a dig to you, personally, there will be others thinking the same so it is good to say, these few don't represent all muslamics ... I mean riders .....

Seen it far more from pedalists than motorcyclists to be honest.

The law in Britain states that a camera can be attached to a helmet using a bracket but cannot be secured by drilling holes in the shell, as that compromises the integrity of the head gear.

Reeeeeally? Is that a fact?

"Funny" ratings all the way down, starting with the article.

Why would it be a problem if vloggers are getting mashed up trying to up dem subs? Darwin's just having a say.

Paul Breen

said in article
"A tired rider is a distracted one, and a distracted one is an accident waiting to happen"

which will be good, as his bosses...

"Cassell Moore shares in Paul’s passion for securing maximum personal injury compensation,..."

‘And secondly, more importantly, don’t put yourself in the position of taking any silly risks simply to upload a good shot to YouTube.

‘There are quite a few instances on the Internet which capture a rider’s final moments.

The most dangerous form of driving on the roads is on a motorbike – don’t add to to the risk with a helmet cam.

Crash but not many involving motorbikes.

Balance:

But Graeme Hill, a spokesman for the British Motorcyclists Federation, said: “If you look at the figures, nine out of ten motorcycle crashes are caused by other motorists. By obtaining the footage of these crashes, law firms are actually assisted by the helmet cameras, not impeded.

‘This means that despite Cassell Moore’s claims, they should be open minded when sending out a warning to motorcyclists on the dangers of helmet cameras.’ Fite. Fite. Fite.

This "article" is specifically about helmet cams.
His comment can be applied to any vehicle with a dashcam or other vehicle mounted camera.

Silly expert, preaching about the dangers of cameras disrupting aerodynamics when there's another, much greater risk, in having a go pro attached to your lid

At work there was a call for all cyclists & bikers to do a quick survey. Two questions were (paraphrased) "do you use a camera?" & "do you upload footage from the camera to social media?". The results were staggering. Out of around 1900 responses just over 300 people said they used helmet cameras, 2 of which said they uploaded content.
