Hi,

The glass in my left-hand mirror rattles annoyingly, blurring my view at low revs. Can anyone suggest how I might fix this?

I thought of trying to get some bathroom sealant and maybe trying to lever the lower edge of the mirror housing away from the glass just enough to get a fine-tipped applicator in there. If I could squeeze even a small amount behind the mirror, I am sure it would stop the rattle.

Does anyone have any better ideas?

Kind wishes ~ Patrick

Are they adjustable as in the glass and not the body/mounting? If not and your RS1100 drill a small hole in the bottom and pump it full of bathroom silicone.

Adds weight (less vibes to distort).

What bike? What sot of mirror?
Trying to combat the fuzz-effect all mirrors seem to suffer, from new or eventually, depending on how good they are to start with, I have tried all manner of 'mods' over the years, from using wheel weights stuck on the back, silicon sealant, to filling the cases with epoxy and air-gun pellets...

Feel free to experiment, to your hearts content; BUT the likely conclusion is simply to buy a pair of new, OEM quality mirrors.

Had this problem. If the mirror cases are black plastic then do as Itchy says and drill a hole in the plastic face opposite the mirror low down and squeeze silicone into it. You can buy BLACK silicone!! Let the excess set and trim it off - hardly be seen'

Yep drill a hole in the back at the bottom middle and squirt in some cheapo silicone. Use a drinking straw to get it right at the top then squirt a good amount just into the hole. Rattles will stop.

Thank you for all those comments. I will give the idea of drilling a small hole and using black silicone sealant a go. I'll report back when I've done it.
