Hi guys,

is it possible to use for example Arai inserts on HJC visor, or KBC inserts on HJC visors, please? Simply - is it necessary to buy the same brand of inserts as the visor is? Thank you.

I presume the insert is shaped to fit the visor of that helmet, you might find Arai and KBC share the same insert but you'd have to check the fitting info from pinlock

The determining factor is the pinlock's seal. SO you can't even trim to fit. Unless you are lucky.

The simple option is to order the one for the helmet. Sad

No the inserts are not the same brand as the helmet.

Inserts are invented by company called Pinlock https://www.pinlock.nl/motor/

No need to buy insert for your helmet only. Inserts are interchangeable.

There are only few different sizes.

Check on their web site which kind you need. There is one size called "Original" that fits most helmets. It is interchangeable means if you have HJC and Caberg that both fit "Original Pinlock insert" you can move it between helmets.

They also have few new sizes like "100% Max Vision" which is bigger and fits only some helmets. Or "PinlockTINT" which again fits only some brands.

I said 'simple'. Rolling Eyes

Trawling through the helmet web for variations is sure to be fraught with conjecture and doubt.
Ergo the OP will be back to ask for clarification.

Of course one can email the retailer to ask if the inserts are interchangeable. And if they can be arsed/have the info they'll advise. Thumbs Up

I have SHOEI, ARAI, SCHUBERTH all of them are pinlock. All of them use specific pinlock inserts.

Just sayin' Smile

Hjc and shark MAXvision inserts are the same i think.

Some of the pricier manufacturers have their own shape necasue fhe visors have odd little vents or such like.

Pinlock website is the best source of information

Let me say it again All pinlock inserts are made by pinlock company there is no insert branded say Arai

Means use the link for pinlock company to check compatibility not retailers or Arai

I beg you Sir, please permit ME to say again.

It is not a simple case of 'one fits many'.

As you have, so ineloquently, illustrated so far.

Thanks and regards,

MCN
