Got it. Not done a thing about it. It's really painful first thing on a morning and after a day at work, since I'm on my feet all day but other than that I'm alright.
You can get help if it's bad, I have it due to the way I stand, most of my (considerable) weight is on my heels. Only found this out when I stood on a wii fit board.

Things that help:
-getting a desk job
-try to balance on both feet, I tend to stand with more weight on one side if I'm not paying attention
-roll a can or a bottle under your foot. Sounds daft, actually really helps
-gel inserts for your heels
-visit your GP and they'll arrange an appointment with a chiropodist. I got to this point, but at the point I had a desk job so it stopped affecting me
-diet and exercise. Lose weight, less stress on your feet. Non-impact exercise like cycling or swimming. Running will make things worse.

Hope this helps, post back if you find a permanent cure.

I feel your pain, or rather, Mrs Raffles does. She suffers from the condition and has done so for some time.
The first year was the most painful.
Whilst the pain is now bearable (just), she is severely limited in what she can do foot-wise. Running is out, as is lengthy walking. Standing for anything more than short periods is a no-no, as is any form of dancing.
The worst thing, though, is that she can no longer wear heels Sad

I originated a thread on this topic, on this forum, a few years ago. Some useful advice was offered but, unfortunately, I'm unable to locate the thread....Sorry.

I had it for quite a while but eventually got over it.

I found the best thing I could do for it was take a couple of pairs of shoes to work and change them as and when the pain got bad.

I guess the change in pressure and load, with the different shoes, was enough to alleviate the pain for a period of time.

It certainly worked better than insoles and gel heels as, even with their cushiony goodness the pressure point would, after a while, be in the same spot.

Yes I suffer with it, mainly in the morning or after I've been running.

I wear running trainers for over pronation when running and I've found crocs really comfy in the house.

Also roll my foot over a foam roller which provides short term relief.

I've had it a couple of times.

Once when I suffered three flats out mountain biking and had to walk 6 miles on a stone stalkers path in plimsoles. Couldn't walk for about a week.

I sometimes get it if I've been poling my canoe for a protracted period. I think that's more due to flat feet and inappropriate footwear.

Occasionally a problem if I'm stood up operating for a few hours. I started wearing "fit flop" clogs which have a slightly unstable sole so you need to keep making slight postural alterations. Stopped a lot of foot pain and knee stiffness.

So yeah, had a it a few times. Mostly down to inappropriate footwear in my case. I wear Dr Martens shoes pretty much all the time these days for general walking and suffer much less from my feet.

I would recommend people try a pair of good quality clogs for walking around indoors if they haven't already. The fit flop ones are good. Rhode make good womens ones.

A desk job is probably out of the question, although there are a few vegetables at work who've landed the job. More due to the fact that they have bugger all else to offer other than carrying bits of paper around from time to time. Deadwood every where.
I wasn't really aware of a posture imbalance but there must have been something amiss as its only happened in one foot. Hopefully the other foot wont go the same way with the now forced shift of weight.
Rolling something cylindrical under foot helps hugely, its only taken about 5mins of massage to make a difference. I highly recommend an old disused air rifle silencer. Thumbs Up
I'll go out and wade through the mass of insoles and supports on offer today, unless someone can post a link to a decent, reliable and long lasting insole or support.
I don't think I'll bother the GP tbh, I don't see him offering any advice other than what's been said on here. If things get unbearable, I'll go.
I'm not hugely overweight as in I don't really have a big food/beer belly but I suppose I could stand to lose a few grammes here and there.

All advice taken on board people, much obliged. Thumbs Up

Have you tried wearing a magnetic bracelet?
Rolling Eyes

It's a bugger having to look for shoes you like but canny feckin wear.

I think an orthopaedic type chap/chapess (via your GP) can advise on what they have helped other sufferers with.
Custom Insoles for your shoes might help.

And the normal s4it of looking after diet and stuff. i.e. don't get fat or pregnant.

Heels are good but you must ensure your bag matches. Embarassed

Bought some Scholl Orthaheel insoles, bit expensive but worth every penny.
Along with the cylindrical massage and correct stretching, the insoles have made things almost 100% better.
All I really have now is a bit of calf ache from where I was limping when the pain was bad but even that is subsiding.

I do like a quick fix. Thumbs Up

I used to get a lot of pain on my tendons of my foot. While not really been diagnosed I know it is a recurring "cramp" from running often.
Try using a golf ball to roll at the bottom of your feet, may not be a medical solution but honestly it works for me, it is what I'm currently doing as I type this. Honest.

Some people have suggested a cold and full bottle of water acting like a rolling pin, haven't tried it tho.

Yes I have it occasionally.

Nothing more to add than the posters above regarding pain relief unfortunately.

Least you aren't alone though!

Yeah, I had it once, from running.

Rested up for 5 weeks or so, bought new running trainers (gait analysis is very important for running) and one of the below, which looks more at home in the kinky draw of the bedroom than under your foot, but oh well!

I have it too it's OK I find as long as you stretch it, but yeah mornings are a bitch especial if it is cold.

I asked the physio about it when i hurt my back. He gave me some exercises...

https://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/exerciseImages/sequences/480/Male/l/480_1.jpg

do that, with the affected foot backwards,
Then to it with the heel off the ground.
Then do it with the knee on the bad leg bent,

Those stretches stretch all parts of it apparently.

The other one he said to do was to stand up on tip toes then back to standing normally and repeat do this slowly.

Also, stand on the bottom step of your stairs, just on the balls of your feet, then raise up on tiptoe and slowly drop your heels back down below the level of the step. Repeat a few times, or until you pull your hamstring (which does take your mind off your foot pain, tbf).

Ordered the insoles on your recommendation.
There will be a tantrum if they don't work.
