So I've just been given a blue badge and I'm wondering do any other BCF members have experience of using one with a motorbike?

Obviously, many times there will be no need because bikers can park so close to their destination anyway.

I've just purchased for it a holder to secure to the bike from the National Association of Disabled Bikers https://www.nabd.org.uk/bluebadgeflyer.pdf Anyone used one of these?

Thanks

It'll so get nicked if you leave it in one of those holders. Laughing

I'd steal it, most would.

Bikes park for free in most places and taking up a spaz spot which may have 2 disabled pensioners vs 1 disabled biker just looks lulzy.

Why is there no provision in our 'digital world' for a blu-baj to be rendered into a number plate. As legislation already does for yooroh badges et al.

And cut the cock and balls off anyone who abuses the system? Mad

This world is fcuked up I swear.

What about a roller type thing like we used to use for tax discs?

Apparently it's so the disabled person can use it in whatever car they are in like a taxi etc

Yeah well that would be good. But the idea is that the badge follows the user not the vehicle. Otherwise it would be even more open to abuse that it already is. Think the new badges have a picture of the user on them.

Would make even more sense in my case, because nobody else can ride my motorbike... Maybe I should speak to the council, although I doubt they accommodate such unusual circumstances.

The NABD claim they haven't had reports of anybody stealing the holder, it does have a metal frame and attached with a bike lock. As tempting as it is, most people don't walk about with the equipment needed to forcibly remove it...

So say we all.

I don't know if Hitler abused limpy-bays, but Steve Jobs did and that's enough for me to declare a fatwa.

The suggested holder looks good enough to deter casual pikies, although if it's any sort of hassle to get a replacement then I might consider using a reasonable facsimile of the original badge.

I wouldn't be so sure, we have some more creative cnuts around these days. Smile

I think it's typical for thoughtful things to help people to be thwarted. One cannot account for the scrotes who have little respect for society's rules.

I don't see why you can't have a badge made for your bike plate anyway. Not sure what the blu-baj number looks like and if it can be included.
It may offset a trip to the magistrate's/sheriff's good offices to explain the problems with compliance i.e. ye canny keep yer fackin baj on coz of scrotes (and Paddy). If the Parking Twaterazzi accepts it and moves along to some other poor unsuspecting 'most of our laws' abiding citizens.

Well, I rather like the look of that. But it looks to me to be very expensive. A week or two ago I was (at about 3 am, when I get some of my better ideas) dreaming up some sort of design plan for something similar to fit to a screen when/if I ever get a combination, lockable of course, for when I go shopping.
