I was just wondering about getting something like one of these for winter riding:

I know it is still quite a warm december, but for when the inevitable snow etc arrives, has anyone tried one of these?
I got to try something similar as a hot water bottle recently and it was excellent, and they reckon 10 hours warmth from a quick blast in the microwave? I reckon it could fit in the front pouch of a hoodie, and as long as it didn't burn it would keep my core temperature up quite nicely. And it sounds a lot less faff than trying to hook something up to the battery. |

You can also get re-usable hand warmers that contain a liquid that is activated by clicking a metallic disk inside them. I usually keep a few in the car as well as the bike during the cold weather - so you just reminded me to dig them out.
They are about £4 for a pack of two, and you can get them from outdoor leisure / camping shops. ____________________ Honda Varadero XL125(V8)

Don't try riding with them inside your gloves though - they can easily split open if you bend them! ____________________ Honda Varadero XL125(V8)

As when you are riding, you are sitting on a ''endless'' 12v power source, look at some electrically powered clothes. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

The comment I have been waiting for - BCF does not disappoint!
I'm with Ste on this one: muffs and/or heated grips - they can be always on the bike ready to go. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017
