Hi just after a bit of advice if anyones been through this.

Wife received a letter through the post about a month ago demanding a fine for not paying to park. My wife had paid so sent proof of the ticket to them in an email thinking that would be the end of it. Today we received another letter for the same company stating they had received our appeal and that my wife had entered an incorrect reg - 19zhboy so we have to pay £60 or appeal to independent appeals service.

There is no way may wife would have entered an incorrect reg and the above number is nothing like her reg so we think the machine must have been faulty.

cheers

Does the ticket purchased by your wife have the registration number on it?

Ignore them. They'll soon get fed up and leave you alone.

A company is still chasing me 2 years after the event. Have never replied to a single letter of theirs, but apparently due to some fucktard getting it all wrong in court they are getting more persistent and actually going to court. Might as well see it all the way through now.

No its a machine fault why this happened. After looking online it looks like I will send a second appeal to the IPS then if rejected the advice is to ignore and wait for any court papers if they go down that route.

cheers

I wouldn't worry my beaver about it. They have Internet in the gaols now. Thumbs Up

Private firm? Ignore it. I've never responded to one, ever. They won't ever take action against you.

Only pay council parking tickets, ignore ones from private companies Thumbs Up

That advice is well out of date. Excel do occasionally have a pop in court. Post Beavis, they'll be more minded to do so.

Well if they reckon she managed to enter a reg number - incorrect or not, surely they must accept that she paid to park???

Exactly our point, she pointed this out in her appeal with a picture of the ticket but they came back with there sign wording that states you must put the correct reg into the machine, which she did!! I would wonder if I'd made the mistake if I'd bought the ticket as I'm dyslexic but my wife's like carol vorderman when it comes to numbers and letters just younger and better looking Very Happy

There is no appeal to this now, they dont want to know, so its ignore and wait for court papers if they come and keep hold of the ticket bought to show they haven't lost out in any way.

Excel are members of the IPC and so you can "appeal" to the Independent Appeals Service (IAS). This is the slightly less corrupt and pointless of the two main "appeals" outfits.
