Geriatric, Greville Janner is geriatric no more, he's dead!
A lot of files at "Yewtree" are now, no doubt, being shredded, as we speak!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-35142675

Bet the Sunday papers have had the stories written for months and they've been just waiting for the old bastard to die?
The dirt's going to dished out, big time!

"Dis gon' be good"!

It's really nice of the pervy old duffer to croak on a Saturday, ready for those big spreads in the Sunday Papers tomorrow.

I remember the Frank Beck (he ran homes for wayward boys) trial back in the early 1990's, terrible allegations were made against Janner back then and he just smirked throughout. With friends in high places, nothing stuck to Janner even though it was clear he'd been befriending boys in Frank Beck's care home.

Beck got 5 life terms, one of the most severe sentences ever handed down for non-fatal sex crimes. And don't forget, Frank Beck a very fit man of only 52 died unexpectedly in prison of a heart attack. Oh yes, just as he was preparing his appeal, including fresh disclosures.

Conspiracy anyone? This way.........

Not conspiracy, but being forced to share a cell with Big Vinnie, a Batman outfit and no lube....

I think we underestimate just how powerful "the powerful" actually are. Fact is if they're up to something there's fuck all the mass majority of people can do about it.

Maybe he and Jimmy Savile are sharing a cell in the afterlife*. That would be justice, having to look at each other's wrinkly old arses for all eternity when, as everyone knows, they preferred young flesh.

Seriously though, there needs to be an inquiry along the lines of the Savile inquiry to expose how, once again, a high profile geezer (who also claimed to do a lot for charity) was protected by the establishment.

The allegations about Janner are many and go back to the 80's at least.

Even the DPP who decided he wasn't fit for trial stated that there was a sufficiently strong case to prosecute him (with a reasonable prospect of conviction) on several charges back in 2002. Before he "lost his marbles". Rolling Eyes

*except there's no such thing as the afterlife, obviously.

Your forgetting Sir Jimmy of the Saville liked getting it on with corpses so would probably love a few rounds with Janner.

It is quite frightening how much power the establishment wield.

Even if he wasn't fit for trial, if there was the evidence why couldn't we have a trial 'in absentia'.

If he was found guilty at least the victims would have grounds to sue his estate for damages.

Why couldn't we do that for all offences? It would remove the pesky inconvenience of people actually facing their accusers and defending themselves; the courts would operate much more efficiently.

Thumbs Up Good idea. Laughing

But seriously, what's good enough for a king.......

Charles I of England was removed from his trial due to his disruptive behavior, and sentenced to death by beheading without being in the room

What evidence will there be on that?
Is it a case now, that if anyone comes forward, their word is taken as fact, with no witnesses, so long as they can place themselves where it was possible he was 45 years ago?
I wonder if there are any civil damages being awarded to any of these victims?
