Anyone know a decent one that actually works?

I've tried the Halfords one but it's useless.

You need to be very careful with it however, it can damage certain unpainted plastics.

The autoglym tar remover they stock was actually fairly decent I thought when I used it a while back, quite expensive though for what it is. Would probably just use paraffin now.

Baby oil sounds silly but i work on the roads with tar all day trust me it works.

WD40 is a great tar remover. Spray a bit on a soft cloth and wipe or leave it to stand for a few minutes on the stubborn bits.

I use WD40 for cleaning wheels too, it takes road grime and brake dust off really easily.

I used some paraffin which did the trick for most of the tar. Thanks for that matt.

Some of it is pretty stuck so I'm going to order some of the Autosmart Tardis too, I've be convinced by the demo on YouTube Very Happy Very Happy

Don't buy autosmart products from eBay, there a known issue with eBay sellers selling fake or diluted product at inflated prices. Autosmart don`t sell products to resellers and are actively trying to close this trade down.
Try contacting/emailing autosmart with your postcode for the contact details of your nearest authorised agent/rep, and you`ll be able to buy the kosha stuff. iirc 5ltrs of tardis is around £18-£20 +vat. I have a tin in the garage. The rep may also give you the necessary bottle to decant into and the correct product labels FOC.
There is also a slight undisclosed crossover of AS product, iirc the Smartbike is relabelled Hazsafe. G101 is a good detergent, & I use either Tango or trim wizard for polishing plastics.
IMO for £/ltr value buying AS stuff is cheaper than buying 300-500ml bottle from halfrauds
