Looks like it is part of the on going narrative that all men are rapists and abusers.

https://twitter.com/MahdDogg/status/680871016470568960

Like this poster campaign. All the abusers were men. Anybody who raised a complaint was banned.

Here are the posters

https://i.imgur.com/6cAdIfh.jpg

All use the pronoun of HE.

Economic abuse? Likes to budget carefully. So in essence if I don't cave into her demands of I want those Leboutin shoes I'm an economic abuser?

Well, he needs to not censor what he posted before I'll give him any sympathy. For all we know he sent "Fuck you whore and your one sided posters" ..

I suspect he censored what he posted for a reason, one that he wont share with others.

How about, "..is too stupid to leave or use existing harassment laws, so here's some pointless new legislation to make it look like we care or can do anything more about it."

I predict that the primary use of this new law will be for oxygen thief yoofs to blackmail and retaliate against their parents or carers, given that it criminalises 'controlling' your children the instant they hit 16.

Its taken them long enough to realise domestic abuse isn't just a good shoeing. And we say other countries are stuck in the past...

Sounds like me and my wife. I'm always after something or other (at the moment it's an electric guitar, the other week it was a new fishing rod, before that I forget). But she never lets me buy them. Something about feeding the kids, paying rent etc etc.

Naturally my dream shopping is just that... Partly so I know what I want to save up for but also so I can see my wife's mortified expression when I ask if I'm allowed a 79p chocolate bar when we're stood at the till. It's comedy gold, especially when I use the fact she never lets me buy anything as justification for having to ask (a sort of reductio ad absurdum). I only ask before I buy pricey things because I can't be bothered with the hassle of doing the family's budget. I earn the money, she works out what goes where and I'm told how much is left over for frivolities. I like it this way.

But it's not hard to see how a more selfish and simple minded individual could use this sort of law to make the other person suffer for not giving them what they want.

Having said that, I know a woman who is afraid to drive with the air-conditioning on in her car as her husband regularly checks the mileage and fuel level after she's driven the car (well, she reckons, I'm 99% certain it's the onboard mpg calculator he checks, she doesn't know of such things) and gives her a blocking for wasting the petrol. Either way, she's afraid to do anything wrong, and this sort of law could help her if she ever realises what's best for her. Bizarrely, she's actually an intelligent and well mannered person too... You'd think she'd be bright enough to know when she's being bullied.

Have I made a point? I don't think I have. Ummm... Gender inequality, yeah, blokes are mostly the bad guys, women the victims. But it's not 100% this way round, the posters should reflect that. As for the new laws, like rape laws etc, it's wide open to abuse, but could help some who wouldn't otherwise have a hope of changing their situations.

I censored nothing, all my posts are available on my twitter feed to be read. https://www.twitter.com/mahddogg the tweets regarding the campaign begin on the 26th Decemeber.

maybe next time you'll not make up claims before you post? I can't really say I'm too surprised though as the "he must have done something to deserve it" is an attitude we male survivors of domestic abuse face every time we bring it up.

I looked through your twitter, and can't see the tweet that is censored from the one linked in the original post.

Do you care to provide a direct link to the one that is blanked out?

I don't understand what you mean by censored tweet. None of my tweets have been blanked out or deleted or anything. All are available to see. Can you show me a screenshot or something where this censoring is happening?

The bawwwing begins on the 25th, and just goes on and on and on and on. No wonder you got a slap from the missus.

That's the Red block background header of her Labour MP Twitter profile, not a censored post.

And it's this kind of shit headed comment that proves exactly why male victims of domestic abuse don't come forward.

Looks to be censored by a big red box.

If you read what I wrote, I said that I wouldn't give you any sympathy until I knew exactly what you sent to her. I'm not in the habit of proffering support on the off chance you might not have been abusive to her. If you interpret that as "he must have done something to deserve it" - then I don't really give a fuck. If you had been abusive to her, and I've offered you 'support' without checking then that suggests I support your abusive method.

You do indeed have a throbbing victim mentality.

In the spirit of the season, here's a gift.

I would suggest that coercive control, specifically of the type where the partner uses kids and the threat of them losing access as a lever to get their own way is FAR more likely to be perpetrated by the female partner.

I've seen that kind of thing happen much more regularly (and disgustingly openly) than any other form of domestic abuse. "If you don't give me xxx I'm leaving and I'll say you beat me so you'll never see the kids again.".

There is victim mentality and actually being a victim you realise? If you read above the tweeter was actually a victim. Dismissing all things based upon oh victim mentality is pretty weak especially when they were really victims.

For instance I often cite the fact that Chinese are twice as likely to be victims of violence than any other group. Is this just a mentality? Can you just dismiss this on mentality when I really do get attacked now and again?

It depends on what they're a victim of. They could be an actual victim, if they believed they was.

Was the tweeted given a kicking by his Mrs? Or did his Mrs simply not let him buy a motorbike?

Itchy wrote:

Was he, actually? Well, I guess if you tweet it, it must be a fact. Let's assume that he was though. So, what does this law do to help him?

Breitbart, that bastion of objectivity and fact checking wrote:
The resident told us that he had spent 10 years with an abusive ex-partner. He described how she would stage emotional breakdowns around their friends, break presents bought for him by his son, and, at one stage, punch him with a closed fist while he was holding their one-year old baby. “The only time I felt safe was when she returned to her flat,” the resident said.

Oh how terribly sad that it took him a decade to realise that he was repeatedly and voluntarily hooking up with a mental case to bareback his load into her, before finally working up the nerve to tell her that she was chucked.

The solution to his serial spinelessness is of course that the State should have jailed her for 5 years the very first time that he dialled 999 to report that she'd put on a petted lip.

My point, to hammer it home, is that passing a laughably ill conceived law won't change human nature, nor will it enforce itself through some magical holistic-justice process that requires less resolve and produces better results than the unhappy party packing their bags or changing the locks.

The law under discussion will in fact be far more useful to the ruthless, malicious, deceitful and deranged than to the decent, honest and meek.

In that context, sniffling about the gender bias in the poster campaign by one Farce is about as significant as criticising the arrangement of the deckchairs on the Titanic.
