I passed my mod 2 in august and on tuesday i finally picked up my first bike. Its a 2000 Honda CB600F with the front fairing. I put in a cheeky offer on ebay which the seller accepted. 32,000 miles but still in brilliant condition for the age. Also came with a nice Micron exhaust system.

Today i have given the bike a good clean and a coat of wax before tucking it away until march time when the weather is a little better!

Pics to follow.

Tom

Get on with it.

The weather won't be that much better in march, so if you're waiting fir the sun it's going to be may.

In 5 months, the fuel will have turned to water and the heavy parts of it that separated out will have clogged the lines, then you'll be posting in workshop wondering why your bike doesn't run right.

For me It's just a fun toy for use on nice days, but many of the best days are the cold but dry and bright days in the winter.
I'll probably have a couple of hours tomorrow morning (not drinking much tonight).
It's definately better for a bike to be used regularly, although I'm a bit more reluctant to use it when the roads have been salted, even if the weather is good.

No it wasn't that one. Looks very similar apart from the exhaust, I paid slightly less than that too.

Nice one! You got more self control then me I'd be out out already! If you are waiting till march fair play, but post up on the workshop about tucking bikes away, anything with tires and breaks needs storing properly and by ready to service it before first out. Or just put a few hours a every month riding it. Also if you do have a good break from mod two to solo riding maybe worth getting a couple of hours with your instructor just to refresh and build up your confidence, unless you are gagging a 125 for the winter, if so take down the wheely school!! Nice bike tho. When you do get to riding it you are going to love it, first time I fully tore through the gears and powerbands it's like a spaghettification experience! And that was a 600 blandit!! Wahoooo!
