Rear ended a van at around 40mph. Long story short I was looking at an ambulance coming around the corner whilst the van infront screeched to a halt. Tried to go on the inside but clipped it with my whole right side. Ended up in the ditch. Was thought I had broken everything, when infact I didn't break a thing. Incredibly lucky.

Was kept overnight but hobbled out of hospital yesterday. Knee is in an incredible amount of pain, as is my arm and shoulder. Wore full leathers and good quality gear, which is the reason I didn't come off worse.

Poor obs on my part. Just enjoyed a huge xmas dinner, so I'm not all that bad. Saw the bike yesterday and as far as I can see it's salvagable, although I will only be trackday'ing it from now on. .

Unlucky Stay away from vans, 3 times now I've gone down because of one (although the last one was my fault ).

Wouldn't make for an interesting paint diagram. Like you said Trevor, was looking at one potential hazard and totally missed one infront of me. Nurses were great. Was put in a ward full of older guys, so as a young stud I got lots of attention .

Bike as far as I can tell only needs a new right footpeg and right hand exhaust, was told I almost avoided the van! Will try and get pictures soon but it's in a front drive a few miles away.
