A nice Christmas present for the families and friends of the 106 British soldiers who died fighting the Taliban to gain control of this town and stop the poppy harvest financing them.

Every politician who was involved in this fiasco should be given a potato gun and sent there to fight.

6 months and the Taliban will rule all Afghanistan again. A waste of all British lives lost in that god forsaken country..

Oh good. They can send us lots more refugees, as I'm sure the Grauniad will be writing articles how terrible it is, and how it's all our fault, and Vincent and the SocJus liberal hordes will be parroting them verbatim. We should all be tightening our belts and taking them in because of this terrible thing. How horrible must their plight be, you privileged white western horrible people. And think of the children, please think of the children as the well known actress will say on the BBC appeal to give money for this noble cause. These people are suffering. I've got real world experience of being out there

Its a sad world but the Afghan people have been used to this for decades , there is no technology , no education(only religious)
They don't know what's going on outside of their towns /tribes
It's medievil seriously
There already killing each other ,over land etx leave them to it.

When I was out there all the locals hated us , they all helped the Taliban, kept them fed,watered and hidden
Any other soldier whose been there will say the same

Me and a interpreter fell out as both are Mrs were pregnant at roughly the same time.
Obviously there is no way they can find out the sex of there baby/niece/nephew etc due to the state of the country(if you can call it that)
Saw him a few months later and asked what he had , he spat on the ground and rubbed his boot into the ground that he had a daughter/niece and he was well pissed off...

Let me put it this way....I'm not convinced that any soldier serving as part of an occupying force..being holed up in a compound, going on patrols, talking with the locals etc is automatically an expert on that particular country, it's customs, its politics, its religion et al. Just as anyone riding a motorcycle becomes an expert on mechanics.
