Well I'm your man!

If you want anything from a little Sempron 2400/256Mb/40Gb (£185) to a full blown Athlon64 3500+/1Gb/150Gb(£750) just let me know.

Send me an email or PM me with what you're looking for and I'll get back to you with more info.

True. But then I can beat a Dell PC's performance and quality hands down.

The point is that I've nothing to lose by posting on a forum. I may not gain anything either, but so what? No-one ever gets anywhere with that attitude.

Not enough. PM me if you want anything and I'll see what I can do.

Didn't mean any offence mate. I've been bulding PC's since I was 13. I wish I could do it now and make some money Very Happy I can't provide the level of support needed for home users.

Demonic - providing home users with support isn't too hard, I went private after working for a firm in Norwich about 2 1/2 years ago. It depends whether you work during the day, but a support forum, e-mail, and a telephone suit most people. I'm full time self employed now - so a slight advantage with supporting. Also, providing you set up remote access on PCs, you can offer real time remote support - which is great for helping customers without having to go to them or get the computer system back in. I have system owners in various towns, and have no problem supporting them this way.

Dell quality is incredible - I've worked on a number of Dell machines, both upgrades and some repairs - very impressed with their equipment, and anyone who comes to me but decides they do not want a bespoke system (I only deal with high quality, performance bespoke systems), I send straight to Dell. They are the only brand name computer systems I recommend.

As for performance, it has to be accepted that generic machines will never perform as fast as custom systems, because they have to be broad ranging in their abilities.

Mad Hatter - MAC??? Please... Overpriced - over-crashed - and OverRated by the Mac community! True Windows isn't perfect and *nix systems still leave some to be desired but Mac is a company that just shows how if you bump up prices for rubbish you get a following. Not to shun the performance of the G-series processors, but at the end of the day, Mac is exceptionally limiting... Who else thought the old I-Mac's were for anchoring boats in dock?

Honestly though, some Macs are good, but the OS is no where near as good as Mac people will have you believe.
