Bowie's music really was part of the soundtrack of my life.

In fact, The Laughing Gnome was the first "pop" song that brought me to musical consciousness, which took me out of childhood and into prepubescent appreciation of modern music.

From the perspective of my youth (a very straight-laced middle class life), somehow I disapproved of his very unique style, but also yearned to have the courage to be that different.

He's definitely been very influential amongst those who drive my constant refusal to conform

There are some celebs death that I fear. Not because I like them but quite the opposite. Can you imagine the hell of wall to wall Cliff tributes when he kicks the bucket?
