NCS (Cyclone) alarms?

Does anyone have any thoughts on these alarms? I'm looking to get the following two alarms, but an issue I have is the distance my bike is parked from my house. I have a direct line of sight (about 60m) from my kitchen window to my bike, however I would prefer the ability to turn off the alarm from any location nearby up to 60m.

Do these alarms fit that bill or are there alternatives with similar prices?

Also will a cover break the line of sight? Due to the location it is parked in I would prefer not to have it blaring every once in a while, but when actually disturbed. Any assistance is appreciated!

It did the job, never had any problems with it. Nice and loud. And it did once scare somebody out of my garage when they nudged the bike trying to nick other stuff.

Never actually tested the max range but whenever I hit it within sight of the bike it activated / deactivated it. (More than can be said of my Acumen which seems to have a range of about 10 feet!)

Didn't necessarily need line of sight either. I could activate it while the bike was parked in the garage to the rear of the house while I was on the front driveway.

One issue is that even with the sensitivity right down it can be activated by strong winds! Not so bad for me because I kept it in the garage ...

I have the easy fit simple 2-wire model in my FZ1. Works very well, nice and loud and easy to fit.

Not sure on the distance you've mentioned, but I can activate / de-activate (hearing the beep too) mine from about 25m away through the upstairs window with a waterproof cover the bike.

I have one of these fitted on my bike and I'll test the range of the remote tonight, but in the meantime, take a look at the "Cyclone" branded alarm.

It's exactly the same thing as the NCS but includes an LED, it's cheaper too.

I have both the NCS and Cyclone alarms, they're exactly the same (bar the LED), even down to the circuit board which has the same OEM markings. The Cyclone does have a few more components on the board to drive the LED, but having done a few tests, the additional power consumption is negligible.

EDIT: Just did some range testing in a car park, 60m is about as far as the remote can work reliably, i.e. arming/disarming on a single button press. At 80m, only 1/4 of button presses worked. Noting, this was done using the original remote battery, used daily for almost two years.

I never got 60m out of mine. I think that a cover will reduce the distance.

It worked and was loud, but my immobiliser started playing up. Lead to me having to hot wire my Spain. If I was installing again, I'd just wire up the movement + indicators, leave out the remote start and immobiliser.

I rarely use the Alarm (not Cyclone) on my R1 as I'm never near enough to hear it when it goes off, and it does go off every so often. I rely on my chain and disk locks.
