Surely it's simple enough to check yourself? I'd say the main sites to be checking are eBay and Gumtree.

One year ago I checked Kazakh ads for BMWs and found that used X6 is almost 20K USD cheaper in Moscow then in Almaty. I bought the car and took it to Kazakhstan (2500 miles drive) and placed an add with the lowest rate around the country. It turned out that prices Kazakhs show in ads are far from real cash deals. It took me 3 months to sell the car by the rate around 20% lower then the minimum "market" rate. How real is to sell used premium bike in UK fast by the lowest market price?

How do you expect to get around customs/registration formalities and (I presume) import tax? Bear in mind that an online check is easy, so forged papers won't work.

Forged papers Shocked ? UK VAT is large expense, but It is supposed to be compensated by Russian refunded VAT.

With those prices, you will struggle to make money I think.

They are a bit cheaper than UK, but once you factor in people are picky over imports and the extra charges you face (import tax etc) then I doubt you will make money.

.....except on that HP4, that is very cheap. So much so, I'd suspect that it's import into the UK might actually be a return to blighty and any attempt to register the VIN would result in a visit from the police.

I'd say cheap bikes sell quickly, but it depends. There was a Ducati Hypermotard (796) on eBay for 3.5k on Lithuanian plates, which took ages to sell (if it did at all), and that was cheap.

People do haggle, but generally people advertise their bikes for a little more than they want. Eg: £2150 probably means 2k Smile You get stupid offers when selling a bike but you just ignore them.

Also I thought part of the appeal of importing bikes was to a) import a model not available in the UK and b) import bikes where they're generally in better condition. Unless Russia has a whole load of models I'm not aware of (like the Jap' market), or the weather's significantly nicer, personally I wouldn't be interested...

unless really really cheap
