Im confused as to what OP is asking, the question posed is:

"Are more expensive helmets worth the extra money with regard to both safety and product desirability"

But all the questions on the survey are purely opinion based. Theres no technical reasoning behind "is a more expensive one less likely to make you a potato if you spack it up"

Surely you'd be better off contacting manufacturers and researching SHARP ratings and impact data on cheapy lids vs superduper "its got Rossi wrote on the side of it so its well good like innit?" lids.

I'd stick to the desirability aspect of your study to be honest because you have lead with the incorrect assumption that paying more for a motorcycle helmet gets you a safer helmet. It doesn't.

So my oppinion about wether or not paying more for a safer helmet is worth the money is utterly irrelevant because paying more doesn't necessarily get me a safer helmet.

All helmets for sale in the UK have a SHARP star rating. I'd suggest you spend some time on the SHARP website. Try sort by price and see how the star rating correlates... https://sharp.direct.gov.uk/

The cheapest 5* helmet is £59.99. The most expensive 1* helmet is £190. Most expensive 2* is £450.

Questions weren't the best but doesn't take much figuring out.

In answer to your question, more expensive helmets will typically offer more comfort, some fancy features and generally look more appealing. Safety wise they're not much better than cheaper lids.

My £150.00 AGV Compact has the top rating on the SHARP website. So it's just as safe as a £600 Arai.

When I was in the upper sixth researching a subject like this would have involved hours in the Library, making a nuisance of my self in bike shops and asking random biker in the street what they thought. It would have been hard work. Nowadays all you have to do is search the internet. In the light of that I find it appalling that OP has come up with such a simplistic and flawed survey. Are students nowadays really so lazy they can't even be bothered to press a few buttons.

Hint to OP. Use google scholar, you'll get a ton of academic papers on almost anything you can think of.
