https://www.mcnmotorcycleshow.com/

As I am off around Europe in May I will be looking out for a new white helmet as well as some new leather jeans.Hopefully I will buy a bargain but from previous years prices are not that different to those elsewhere except on the net.

And for those who are in to push bikes as well, the cycle show is on at the same exhibition centre as the motorbike show at the same time

Never been to a bike specific show, what's it like? The British motorshow was really good at the Excel but then it's full of cars you never see on the road. I imagine top of the range bikes being attainable gives it less of a wow factor?

Good to sit on a load of new bikes all in one place but that's about it for me. Have some stands of classic and famous bikes to look at too but can't tough them.

The mcn festival has less bikes but is better as at least they have displays and events on to watch or even test ride some bikes

I tend to go just for the purpose of slipping away from the missus for the day, getting together with a couple of bike-interested mates and having a few beers whilst eyeing up the make-up-plastered-daddyabused-lycra-totty. A few bikes I'm interested in having a good look over without a dealer trying to hard sell me one is a bonus; an opportunity to try on a bugger load of lids boots and gloves I can then internet order if I find anything that fits well is another bonus.

Other than that, it's pretty weak.

I should be there on the Sunday although trains are buggered in SE London.

I’m looking forward to the Joey Dunlop collection Thumbs Up

Seventeen quid to wander around a glorified bike-shop show room looking at stuff I can't afford? I'll give it a miss.

I'm now no longer in East London for a quick ride there + valentine's weekend + photography work + holiday a few days later. For those reasons, I'm out.

I've been to the old BMF shows and one of the big shows at the Excel. I find them rubbish really. There's gear on sale generally no cheaper than you can find online. Rarely do you get any prototype or interesting bikes, just regular stuff you can see in the showroom.

Check out Helmet City, they seem to have the Schuberth S2 in white for £230. I picked up my Flou one for £300 last year from there and been getting on really well with it. They're also doing a pair of Hornee kevlar jeans in a deal for an extra £40...

Either way, if you're South of river, definitely check out their store, got really good selection and dead helpful. They didn't have the colour I wanted in my size (so tried on other colours), but happily ordered it in, fitted pinlock, then mailed it on to me at home, no extra cost.

It's something to do and usually the 16 mile blast through the docklands on the A13 is my first ride of the new year

Get train, get drinking, get twatted - it's far more entertaining that way Laughing

I'd rather ride than get the shoddy C2C service and have to change at West Ham(?) for DLR.

You need to get out on the bike more Laughing

Still can't ride mate. Well, can't ride the Sprint anyway. I have decided it's going up for sale but I've not been particularly motivated or particularly able to move it out of the garage corner to take pics of it and clean it Laughing

It'll be swapped out for a lighter, more upright bike Thumbs Up

Anyway - C2C's alright; less than an hour and you're there, and then you can get twatted and laugh at the unsightly clunge Very Happy

I'll probably go but only because I am round the corner, I don't know whether this is true or just because I have become more jaded in my old age, but year in year out shows have gotten shitter IMO.

Went last year. Was pretty average, apart from the live racing in the middle; Saw Craig Jones crash the Victory as he was power sliding.. Laughing
Didn't see that many bargains and the cheap stuff was tat. Wonder how many years the show has left in it TBH.

I hate salesmen and being hassled to buy things, so this sounds doable to avoid that nonsense and be able to look at some shiny bikes, especially as the other half is looking to buy her first bike in the near future. I'd also have that kid at Christmas vibe (I guess) due to having not got cynical about it all (yet). It'll happen. It has for everything else Laughing
