I've been given the task to keep my friend out for the day on 30th Jan as its his 40th surprise birthday party in the evening .
We are based in Peterborough and don't mind riding an hour or so to something interesting but it also needs to be worth going in the car just in case it rains ( so good biking routes are out )
Whatever happens I have to get him out of the way but be home for 5-30 ish .
I've done some odd google searches but I'm just randomly looking at places but nothing really pops up .

Any ideas are welcome .

Thank you
Chris

Hunstanton. Romantic walk along the seafront. Share a bag of doughnuts whilst looking into each others eyes. Laugh together in the amusements and maybe steal a kiss in the night-zone of the sea life centre.

Worked every time for me Wink

Edit:

Slightly more serious suggestion... Duxford. Lots of stuff indoor if the weather is shite and lots of weaponry to feast your eyes on. It can't be more than an hour from you and you could tell him you'r treating him to a day out there for his 40th so he doesn't think you're keeping him out of the way for a surprise bash.

I had to do something similar 10 years back with a mate over near Northampton. We ended up doing a day on a skid-pan. It was something I wanted to do and a few mates chipped in to cover his cost....
I can't remember where it was though, and I doubt it was an hour from you....
