For a long time I wanted to fit one to both the XR and the KTM but nowhere seemed suitable. That was until a friend bought the ideal type that could be bolted into the end of the handlebar (not suitable on the KTM Thumbs Down ) and that would unobtrusive when on full lock.

Having bought the type that said friend suggested I have found them to be very well placed

What's wrong with standard mirrors? If you don't like how they look you can get foldable ones (called double take mirrors?). Although saying that, mine are pretty much useless anyway as they always get mis-aligned greenlaning.

They catch branches, brambles, general foliage and make me wobble and then fall over in the rut.

Or, when I crash, the damned things hit me in the chest.

I binned mine, and put one of them ram mounted fold away ones on.

Man up and run without them.
The riding style is so un-restrictive, you can shoulder check easily, even in full leathers. Thumbs Up

The thing is,I lead quite a few rideouts, especially on the dirt bikes. It is not that easy to look over ones shoulder when riding on slippery mud when a quick glance in the mirror is sufficient.

It is nothing about style or the size of ones bollox, more about not riding off into the distance when a riding colleague might be lying under their bike after an off Confused

Said friend bought them on my behalf from eblag.

They also come with an insert so that they can be mounted into the ends of the handlebar.

I seem to remember that they were £10 for the pair Thumbs Up

They are a Chinese copy of the CRG mirrors. Cheap for a reason, they're crap. The vibes on the 690 completely destroyed the mounts.

You just take the bar end pieces out. It's the same mirror.

Buy the CRG blindside mirrors if you want the real thing not Chinese poor quality.
