I would wear your leathers yeah. Just get an MX jersery type thing, or a hoodie just to keep bug splats off them. As for boots, some people wear MX boots but they are usually very stiff, I prefer road boots myself.
Good choice of bike Where's the pics? ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

I wouldn't wear MX boots, too restrictive. Wear what ever's practical, I normally just wear textiles, but then I don't care what I look like. Good choice btw. ____________________ DRZ400-SM

Nice looking bike!
Buy a decent lock and chain and fit it right away. Then go and buy another and fit that one too. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

I got some cheap used MX boots when I was starting out and super paranoid. Not a success. They make gear changing a chore and aren't comfortable. They'll probably help in drop or a low speed off, but I've heard it suggested that they'll transfer rotational badness upwards, and it's better to have your ankle spazzed than your knee.
+1 on chains. Get a whip to drive the pikeys back while you're at it. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Should have been aye. Just make note of how it performs, no flat spots etc. and MPG is important, even with the BB it should still do 60MPG easily. My FCR39MX needs work, I get 45MPG on a good day (flat out in the twisties mind you ), meanwhile my mate who has an FCR41, big bore & stroker 462cc kit fitted averages 62MPG Quite a faff getting the carb in and out of the bike though, that's my excuse. ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

Have you got your Mod 2 booked up, then?
You know the drill for it? Treat it as a normal ride and don't be put off by the independent riding section, the examiner is just a terrible satnav that needs you to show him/her the right way to go. Good luck!
The DRZ looks lovely btw ____________________ Theory test - 19/8/09, CBT - 11/10/09, MOD 1 - 16/8/10, MOD 2 - 27/10/10

True, I ignored him three times on independent ride, extended my mod two by ten minutes and still got through. By the time I'd gone wrong the third time I thought fuck this and rode back to the test center, normally, as I'd given up figured I'd failed (again) and relaxed, probably why I passed..
Nice bike btw, loving the pr3(?)rubber on the rear road tyres road boots nowt wrong with that ____________________ ybr125 Sold, GSF600 K1 Bandit (For Sale), FJR13000 gen2. |
