Normally clean my own carbs, but as it's for my tdr250 project and wanted them mint on the outside went for vapour blasting and ultrasonic clean.
X2 Carbs were ready for collection my carb rebuild kit arrived from Japan. Smile so thought right jobs going to be boxed off.
Upon collection looked lovely on the the out side but wet and sticky with acf50.
Looked at the lower half of carb ie where the float bowl sits crud in the bottom chipped at it carefully with a key to prove a point.
Inside the carbs acf50 and I can feel and see glass beads.
This is a restoration company had to explain why all these things are not good and why putting acf50 on an unbuilt carb is a bad idea.
Grinds my gears when so called professionals get it so wrong, very apologetic but the point is I'm still going to clean the carb now as I don't trust them even when they say it will be sorted. So why did I bother 50 mile round trip Very Happy.

Next time, just put them through the dishwasher (small pieces in the cutlery basket).

Come out like new.

I'm not sure Mrs Borg could swallow a whole carb. Thinking

Women can't leave carbs alone. They sneak them directly from the cupboard when they think no-one is looking. Then feel guilty about it and compensate by giving their husband a hard time.

Nope, that's very selective mice, that is. They can devour an entire 200g bar of hazenut milk chocolate in a day without touching any of the packets of dried fruit or seeds that I'd put on top of it.

Just waiting for a name-'n'-shame.
