Just a bit of fun, share your embarrassment Mr. Green
Mine was probably climbing up construction site of hotel when i was 11 and walk to the end of the planks at the top and almost being deaded as the plank went over the edge quite a bit and my weight pushed it down. I've never moved so fast in my life Shocked Laughing

What's yours?

Put a knife into the hand of a tiresome mental case threatening to off herself, and invited her to either shut up or get on with it.

Stupid because she could have gone stabby and hurt an innocent bystander, or worse, me.

Sad because she shut up rather than putting up.

No regrets though, would do again, although I'd clear the area and plot an escape route next time.

Walked towards a major military battle in Zimbabwe rather than ran away (twice).

Steamed in to break up a fight in a night club in full alcohol fuelled hero mode. Later found out it was 8 vs 1 and I had picked up the 1 off the floor and shoved away three blokes trying to get at him.
Lucky neither of us ended up in hospital really.

I don't tend to do big stupid things and much prefer lots of little stupid things.

Skateboarding at night whilst on fire on purpose.
Not backing down.
The way I drove cars 17-35.
Liberating yogurts and tins of soup because I spent the money on petrol and cigarettes...and we were skint yer honor.
Making someone at the bar empty their pockets because I suspected them of pickpocketing.
Being attached to a car bonnet of an ex who wasn't for talking it over.
Borrowing those explosive warning charges used in railway tunnels and discovering what shrapnel was and possibly hearing damage.
Building a fire in a shed.
Using darts during the game DartWars and hurting each other.
Using knives playing SplitTheKipper and hurting each other.
Using guns playing SniperWar and hurting each other.
Using catapults...In general.
Riding down the steepest hill in Macc forest on the precursor to a mountain bike we called a Tracker, one mate on the handle bars and another on the seat and thinking that I could risk a no-hander.

It's the stupid things in life.

Possibly this:

Very tall crumbly cliff, that's me and el_oso off here, about half way down. Bonus points for anybody who can name the beach.

To be honest I've done lots of stupid stuff like launching fireworks by hand, and very silly things on the motorbike.

There was one time where myself and el_oso thought it'd be a fun idea to swap seats in a moving car on the M4, so he was passenger and I was driver, bearing in mind that at the time I'd never actually had a driving lesson.

The thing is, I really don't regret any of it, I had an excellent late teens and early 20s, I still do silly things now, though maybe with a thought first towards the potential results with my other half and my career, I'd probably not do the stupid car stuff now for instance. IMO a bit of michevousness is what makes life fun, I've got friends and colleagues who wouldn't take any risk at all, I really don't understand where they get their buzz from, a little kick of adrenalin, or a mischievous laugh with some friends is part of what makes life worth living!

While off on a bit of a tangent, I was mulling this over the other day about how unfortunate the youth of today are insofar that all the stupid things they do have a good chance of being filmed by a mate. Whereas us oldies did similar stuff and are left with just the memories, the little darlings are recorded, uploaded to the internet for all eternity, ready to be shown at any moment.

stepping in to tell a bloke to leave a girl alone
went badly and I ended up with a record for assault as she started seeing him after and wouldn't back my side of the story up

ruined my chances of getting into the army at the time

or

going out collecting snakes as a kid

somehow we never got bitten Laughing Laughing

Summer of '76, ten years old, me and my mate Kevin playing at the bottom of a dis-used gravel pit that usually contained 20 metres of water. The clay floor was baked solid and cracking up. In the blinking of an eye the crust broke under Kevin and he disappeared up to his armpits, luckily he stuck his arms out or he would have gone completely. I heaved him out and thank god where I was standing didn't give way. We could both have died and no-one would ever have known what happened to us.

Amazingly neither mums were overly bothered about it. The total lack of paranoia or safety conciousness in the 1970's was incredible.

Oh yeah ... around about the same time (maybe '74 or '75) my girlfriend and I used to wade out into the middle of the mudflats when the tide was out. Sometimes, up to our waists.

If we had somehow got stuck, there was no way we could have hauled each other out. We just used to stand there laughing our arses off and not being able to move, and eventually claw our way back out up the beach.

What the hell were we thinking. Mr. Green

Couple of times we laughed so hard we both pissed ourselves ... but who could tell? We were waist deep in mud, nobody could see, and coated in it as well, so nobody could tell our jeans (yes, lovely heavy jeans, as well) were wet from pissing ourselves. That just made us laugh all the harder. Both of us knew from the facial expressions that the other was pissing herself. It just made it worse.

Then we'd walk stickily back up to her house and hose ourselves down. Awesome LOLs.

A very long time ago I went out with a girl. Pretty with a nice rack, but dizzy and really dumb.

She didn't swallow because she thought she'd get pregnant.

I think one of the stupidest things I did as a youngster, involved a wasps nest and petrol Shocked

I found a wasps nest in an earth bank near our house.
I decided the best way to deal with this was to pour petrol down the hole and light it Confused
So after sneaking into my dads garage and getting a can of petrol, I ran to the hole and poured the best part of a gallon of petrol down the hole.
However I`d forgotten to get some matches.
So I went back to the house and "borrowed" my dad`s matches.
Back to the hole and all this time the petrol was evaporating into vapour.
Match out of the box and I strike it against the box, WHOOPH!!!! the next thing I recall was looking at the sky, thinking WTF! Shocked Laughing
My clothes were smoking and there were bells ringing in my ears and the whole world was very wobbly, but I was still in one piece Laughing
The problem was that now the surviving wasps were homeless and very very very grumpy Shocked .
Now picture the scene : a small smoking boy, running down the road shrieking at the top of his voice while being chased by wasps! Laughing
