New lid, keeping it nice, wieght and bits missing.

1) The weight is out. 1250g (+/-50g) is written in various places, including a sticker on the lid. Im aware this number is for the lightest sizing, not all sizes. As there are two shells I assume small has less padding than XS and therefore is probably the lightest size unless medium also shares the shell. I am disappoint to see mine weighs 1450g to compare, my S600 weighs 1502g on the same scales (listed as 1450g).

I did not pay significantly extra for the reduced weight, but it would mean less stress on neck in a crash, its one reason I went for this lid..

2) Visors for this are 70 quid each. I'd like to keep it nice. Anyone used a screen protector film on the outside of visor, much success? I do not mean the adhesive type - the static ones. A large sheet is quite cheap, should be no different to tear offs or pinlock for visibility. Might test on old lid..

3) Lid was missing the removable glasses foam and ear foam pieces which are supposed to be in bag with manual. Also missing the pollen filter (which I did not know existed, but I want one as it has another function of part blocking the vent). I bought from france, which is likely to be an arse. Where to get them? Also the upgraded visor notch plate

4) Somehow I scratch lids quickly. Im not sure how. How to avoid?

However its a very good fit. The visor being difficult to open is not an issue with summer gloves. Theres no fucking sunvisor. bollocks.

1) Not sure about that. Is you're scale accurate?
2) I did not, as if you're not playing football with your lid, the visor can't really get scratched. Well, if you use the petrol station squeegee, it can get damaged, as those are filthy and a grain of sand can act like the tip of a knife.
3) Try to email the seller.
4) Scratch how and where? To avoid scratching, when storing the lid, use the pouch it came in. If you don't have it, try to email the seller.

I was looking at this lid last night funnily enough. All the ads I saw said 1450g

Interested to know how you, or anyone gets on with screen protectors as I scratch a visor every 6-9mths

I wonder if a Galaxy Note 4 protector would work, cover the most important bit at least.

2) Get scratched winter commuting, wiping rain and shit off with my glove. Not big scratches, but still annoying when sun or headlights are in your face. After a year or two, its not going to be pleasant to use.

4) All over, mostly the top/back. I could try the bag. I stopped using them when the strap broke and I dropped my first lid.



Pigeon the only ads I saw for 1450g were the SpeedR, not RaceR.

Shark visors dont scratch easily. I have a speed r and ride all year round in it, visor has done 2 winters and ismstill good. If it were a hjc i'd be replacing anually.

Glasses insert pads are available from shark dealers, j&s? I might have a pair you can have, bit id have to turn my house upside down. Whats it worth to go looking?

And it is bloody good. it seems to be 100% immune to misting up even with visor fully shut and vents closed. This was two 30 mile commutes, including in traffic and stuck at roadworks on a cold, wet day Then it has a second, rubber breath deflector I can swap, looks like it would be very effective and is more comfortable than a foggy mask, but I doubt it will ever need it.

TTTH - I already have 2 shark lids, they get small scratches eventually. Nothing special about the material Im sure any brand will scratch the same. The special coatings are thinner than piss.

I found my old helmet bag, doubled it up with the new one. This lid is not getting scratched!

Oh, the finish of my Speed r carbon is showing it has been used, and the visor isn't pristine, but it's nothi8ng line any of the heap of HJ-09 visors. i have that are all scratched to hell. It's a good helmet, I wouldn't have forked for the carbon, but none of the non-carbon ones in J&S had a pinlock and there were negotiations.

Nope. Nano/silicone products might be good but I wont be using anywhere near lid until they have been tested for affecting brittleness, strength...
