Saw this yesterday - Partial Syria ceasefire agreed at talks in Munich

The thing that amazed me was it was mainly an agreement between Russia and the US. The end point was that they said thye're going to stop bombing anything other than ISIS.

So what were they bombing before?

Proxy war? Thinking

Worst thing to happen in the middle east after getting rid of Sadaam & Gaddafi is him losing power.

All our ills stem from interfereing in the area, the Gulf war being the worst thing we could have done. We destabilised the region and are now reaping the rewards with the swarm and Isis.

If Assad goes who is going to replace him? A useless coilition of sand rats who won't be able to run a country, bit like Iraq and Libya is now Rolling Eyes

After us, the French, the Zionists and all the other land grabbers you mean? Very Happy

As for a replacement, I think the Russians may get to decide. General opinion seems to be he'll go though, along with a dozen or so of his top henchmen....er, I mean people.

I'm talking modern history. If you take out the normal arab/Jewish tiffs, the rest of the countrys were pretty stable. Should have left well alone. Look agt the fuck up that is Iraq now. Afghanistan is back to where it was before all those soldiers were killed 'freeing' it from the Taliban. Libya is now an Isis stronghold.

Blair should be on trial for taking us into a war based on lies.

I wonder what would have happened if Putin & China hadn't veto'd the proposition to bomb Assad back in 2012? Would there have been as many innocent deaths and the same ammount of refugees? Would the following mess have lasted 5 years with no sign of abbating? I don't know Confused

You'd have had a jihadist run shithole 4 years ago, and the current target of US/Israeli/Saudi destabilisation and civil war would be Iran. Russia and China should have vetoed the NATO Libyan "No Fly Zone" back in 2011. The current invasion of hostile parasites would have been more of a trickle.

That's cos the French owned it for a while.

Are you saying the westernised, frequently western university educated Alawites aren't capable of running a modern country, cities and infrastructure? How incredibly rayciss.

Quote:
For the last 40-odd years the place has been run by fear, much like the Gestapo backed up the nazis in the '30s and '40s.
Check out the record for abduction, imprisonment and torture of innocents...it's not pretty.

Interesting wording and attention. Were did this wording, focus and publicity come from? Those NGOs, agencies and media organisations funded by Mr Soros perchance, whose main interest and philanthropy on such issues is it allows him to destabilise and overthrow regimes he chooses, where he makes billions on the business of speculation, as do his connected allies on Wall St and City of London?

No attention in the Saudis or other distasteful regimes is there? Turn the other way, just like we do with the acts the recent visitors do in Sweden, Germoney and elsewhere. Selective reporting, loved by liberals and SJWs that get to do some crying where they're told to, and repeat the right phrases to tug on the feelz strings of useful idiots, to be boosted by Facebook likes and retweets, giving the image of mass public support, so we can send in NATO troops where Brzezinski and others want, so Soros and the others behind the curtain can make $billions.

The problem with Bashar Al Assad is that he has been too soft. He was trained to be a doctor, not a dictator, the man needed to keep desert Snackbars in line, those that want to take the country back to the 6th century, and regard the westernised Alawites as apostates. If his brother hadn't wrapped his car around a tree, then you would have had a brutal regime to cry some crocodile tears about, and the Snackbars would have been crushed before they'd stepped out of line and molested the first goat.

Ditto Qaddafi. The man went soft, thought he'd been welcomed into the international community, "fighting terrorism" after 9/11, just like he thought they wanted. Spending money on social programs is great, but if you neglect your own military and NATO comes knocking, based on the usual Grauniad and BBC sob stories, then you're history. It's a lesson the Iranians don't want to overlook.

Hitler and Stalin...two of the biggest shit-heads of the 20th century...now we have another Sad

You forgot Mao, and no doubt your Grauniadista chums are waiting to add Putin once they've made up something they think they can con the public with.

It's amazing how all these barbaric dictators last so long isn't it, and then are got rid of so quickly with multinational support, once they piss off the financial and corporate interests that really run the show, whether that's trading oil in Euros or setting up an African gold backed Dinar. Don't upset the Petrodollar or you'll become the next Hitler figure. Play along and you can kill who you want, so long as you don't make any waves over resource interests or Israel then everything is gravy.

Allowed? Oh it just happened. Lots of money and guns, part of a wahhabist jihad exported from Saudi Arabia, and military support from Turkey, covert support from the US, the west and Israel had nothing to do with it at all.

Ahead of Pol Pot? And liberals swallow this verbatim? My sides.

It's funny really, loads of liberals will quite happily tell you that the US is directly responsible for destabilising middle-eastern countries so it can profit from a lack of leadership and splinter groups that can be easily manipulated.

Yet the same liberals have bought the "evil Assad" meme hook, line and sinker. When it is obviously a western play to destabilise yet another middle-east country. Look at Libya and Iraq and Afghan and Iran... They all benefitted so much from our meddlings.

It's simple really. Iraq and Afghanistan were horrible imperialist wars started by that fascist right wing republican G W Bush. Libya and Syria are and were humanitarian interventions and "kinetic action" promoted by that lovely black, pro-LGBT, democrat Barak Obama. If you want a war that liberals will fall behind just paint it the right colour(s), add some liberal celebs for a photo PR op and they'll willingly cheer on and bomb the fuck out of anyone for peace. I can't wait for the neocon wars under the rainbow flag of Madam Clinton, I bet the liberals will be cheering them on as they wage war against a new list of "Top Ten Dictators".

Fun times ahead.

You really don't understand the middle east.

The only countries that work are ones that are ruled with an iron fist and thats what the people want/expect. They just want their version of the iron fist to be ruling the country.

Saudi Arabia is one of the worst but it's our ally so we love them dearly Rolling Eyes

Syria is a Russian ally so therefore a horrible country which needs sorting out by us. Easy, exagerate stories and make the PC brigade cry into their yogurt and support the destabilisation.

Of course, nothing the Assad ever did was as bad as this war has been for it's people but lets not let that come in the way of a good bit of western hand wringing, destabilisation and propoganda. Look at how happy the lefties are now they can help millions of war migrants by blaming everyone else for their woes.

Let Russia bomb the fuck out of everyone going, put Assad back in power and perhaps our masters will learn to keep their noses out of what doesn't concern them.
