I bet they still think they invented everything.

Couldn't help it...

I just hate this attitude...

They take existing 'stuff' and make it trendy/cooler

Its f*cking tragic if you ask me...

All hail and praise Lord Zuckerberg, multi-bajillionaire and internets Conquer for bringing the world together through bookFace...

Yet Tim Berners who?

This whole concept of 'Celebrities' being famous for the sake of being famous...

Wanna be famous? Cure cancer or give < f*cks (such as Guy Martin (yes double standards I know Rolling Eyes Am only human after all))

Indeed.

Who falls for this stuff? Oh wait, you didn't.... did you......?

Snopes wrote:
ORIGIN: In February 2016, a rumor began to spread that iPhones and iPads contain a nifty Easter egg: If you set the date of your Apple product to 1 January 1970 then reboot, it will bring up a retro-themed menu based on the old Apple computer operating systems.

Text on the image read:

Blast from the past

The original Macintosh introduced the world to computers, forever changing the way people experience technology, and allowing people to do things that were never possible before. With this easter egg, warp back in time with a class Macintosh theme to relive the magic on your iPhone. Change the date on your iPhone to January 1, 1970, press and hold the power button to reboot your device, and prepare for a wild ride!

As cool as this might look, it’s a hoax, and a particularly nasty one at that. Resetting your phone’s date that far back will so thoroughly confuse your phone or tablet’s operating system that you’ll either need to take it to the Apple store for a replacement, or just buy a whole new phone or tablet.

If you're worried about doing this by accident, don't. Setting the date on your phone is an onerous and time-consuming process, so there’s not much of a chance that you could accidentally brick your phone. However, it’s possible — at least in theory — that someone with time and malicious intent could trick a phone connected to a network into resetting its date by pretending to be a time server.

The date bug affects iPhones, iPads and iPod touches with 64-bit processors running iOS 8 or iOS 9. Apple says it’s looking into the bug. According to the Guardian, users can protect themselves with a series of tweaks, such as manually setting their time and date, not enabling automatic time changes, and not turning off their iPhone or iPads.

If you must have an old-school theme for your tablet or phone, fear not: they do exist! It's worth noting, by the way, that the very first Apple computer, the Apple I, came out not in 1970, but in 1976.

If someone thinks it's genuine, AND has an iPhone they deserve to have it bricked.

After all, being duped twice (the first time was when they was convinced to buy the thing in the first place) is retarded.

https://parallelictblog.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/tablet-pc.jpgI love this one.

Gates possibly introduced tablets before Apple, but what Gates introduced wasn't usable I had one the UI was shit and interacting with it was worse.

I could be said Apple Newton was the first tablet back in 93 as unlike the Palm etc it was a stand alone device and did not require a PC to get stuff done.

The funny thing was Gates had an hard on for tablets from early on and completely failed to get one working until after Apple showed him how...

Same with the cloud MS has been trying for years to get software as a subscription service failing every time. The the cloudy clan show him the way.

Yet even now, Apple cannot make universally compatible hardware with their OWN products.

I'm not saying that its not a error on apples behalf, I'm not an apple fan but I do have an iPhone.

No, I was not silly enough to do it, but there are plenty of people out there who are.

I think the post is very unthoughtful considering the impact it might have on individuals who might be silly enough to do it.

They're the kind of person to share "Like = 1 prayer" on facebook. They would be better being locked out of their iPhone

Apple stuff looks nice, so you hide the charging port underneath. As it takes 2 minutes to get 9 hours of charge in it it's a non issue.

That said I never found a Apple mouse I found comfortable so I don't buy them.

Meh.

It's up there with Apple Wave as proof that people are often too stupid for words.

What about this stunning bit of development, because we all know how robust the lightning port is...
Not a single pencil will break off while charging.

Seriously, Apple tat is overpriced, underpowered, barely functional except for what apple deem worthy.

Anyone who pays a premium for this sub-standard crap should be shot.

The other great thing about Apple is their program to let self opinionated wankers feel better about themselves by denigrating other people for their choice of product.

When someone makes a laptop as well made as my macbook I may start buying something else.

Kit is kit I buy what I buy you may buy something else...

My Lenovo is half the price of a MBP, and is faster. And has better hardware compatibility. If it lasts 3/4 of the time, it's still better than a MBP.

Why would you ever want to buy something that can't be upgraded because even the RAM is soldered to the board.

It's a cheap laptop in a fancy case. It's the sports-125 of the computer world.

Don't take it personally Stigger.

But even you have to admit that the vast majority of people who buy apple products do it for the sole reason of being trendy.

And lol @ "well built"

My Asus 5315 laptop, which i retired 3days ago, was up and running for over 6yrs.

I bought it 2nd hand for £45

It had been in my backpack while i was on my bike in the pissing rain, it's been dropped, kicked, coffee spilt on etc etc etc

Not once has it "not worked".

The only way you would know its had a hard life is the small crack in the casing. Tiny small crack.

My RAM isn't soldered to the case.

Which lenovo is half the price and faster?

Most laptops never get upgraded, engineering them for that, creates compromises in design, you pays your money you take your choice.

As far as your last comment I'll treat it with the contempt it deserves, but remember that the case is how you interact with you machine so it's hardly an insignificant matter. My current work lappy is a Toshiba Portege speedy machine but horrible to use.

I've yet to come across a laptop which the ram, or storage cannot be upgaded.

My Asus 5315 cpu was upgradeable.

My Mrs is MBP is the last of the upgradeable ones. Bought it with lowest spec ram in it. As it was 1/3rd of the price to change the ram myself, than pay Apple to do it. It's got fuck all to do with compromise in design, and more about Apple being money grabbing bastards. What in design does it compromise?

Key spacing is horrible, £1k for a laptop that you can't even get with a British layout.

Lenovo
£429.95
Intel i5-5200
8gb ram
1tb hdd

It also runs much cooler than the MBP. It actually has a proper cooling system instead of trying to vent heat via the keyboard.

Lets not forget that on top of that awesome cooling idea. Apple decide it will be cool to let you use it in "clamshell" mode so you can use it plugged in to a monitor, mouse, and keyboard with it closed.

Genius, pure genius, to allow laptop to be used with it closed, when it vents heat via the keyboard.

I don't take it personally, I just find the sort people that bang on about how shit Apple are are the same sort of people and in many case the same actual people that have banged on about how good Apple are in the past.

I don't agree in the slightest about trendy, most people like my kids for example buy Apple products because they like them, they don't care about the tech they care about usability.

It's the Apple is shit people that are prepared to eschew usability in order to prove some point about how technically astute they are and how everyone else are sheeple.

Well done on the Asus I to just retired my original macbook for a pro 6 years and still going strong number 3 son uses it now.

They can be tricky to find as they're not as up front about it as Apple.
