Trying out express vpn. So far is a breeze and the closer to home you set it the faster it is, when set from the UK it's near undetectable. Not too expensive and gets round regional locks and ISP blocks if required and secure enough for banking and normal use and hella lot of servers.

Allows one simultaneous connection from a comp and phone per subscription

It is based in the US though so if you are wanting to become the next anonymous uber hacker I would look elsewhere.

AirVPN. Inexpensive, reliable and there are plenty of endpoint servers to choose from across the world. Thumbs Up

How do you find accessing websites through AirVPN? I'm finding through Mullvad every website that uses Cloudflare forces me to do a captcha which is getting irksome.

I use btguard's proxy for torrent stuff and its always been good for me. They do a VPN as well so I'd guess that's equally effective.

Equally effective for what?

I'm with Ste, start by stating the problem that you want to solve.

at being a functional VPN perhaps? Rolling Eyes

whilst vpn's are often used to provide a connection with your work network and the like I would imagine in this case the OP is after a way to anonomise (sic) his interweb traffic so his isp doesn't send him nasty letters when he downloads 'big betty's bouncing boobies' off tpb

I use a VPN to bypass UK website blocks, torrent through and when using free wifi access points when traveling to browse the internet in general and avoid their blocks.

Paypal yearly.

If I was real; fussed about anonymity, I would use bitcoin, but that's not the reason I use it. I use it to get around geo-blocks and isp blocked sites.

A VPN is not a purpose. Rolling Eyes

I ask because there are other alternatives available, depending on the required purpose. Tor, for example.

Tor is great to remember what the internet used to be like in the days of dial-up.

Laughing

You are aware that their bitcoin payments are handled by coinbase? Shocked

If someone justs want a VPN so their ISP can't see what porn they're downloading then it really doesn't make much difference which provider you go with. Get over yourself; your ISP doesn't care that you're downloading torrents and unless you're seriously fucked up, they also don't care about your porn browsing habits.

On the other hand, if someone is wanting a VPN for reasons other than just for pub bragging rights then listening to the recommendations in this thread could be dangerous. Rolling Eyes

People are aware of the privacy issues that can be caused by using a VPN? So if you're using a VPN unnecessarily then all you're doing for yourself is creating problems. Wink

For those who're unable to torrent due to ISP blocks, there's a very simple way around those blocks: https://unblocked.red/

alt.sex.stories.moderated is still a better love story than torrenting Twilight.

So?

I don't see anything about anyone actually being taken to court.

I get that very occasionally on some endpoints (mostly dutch ones IIRC) but most of the time it's fine.

If you're having trouble with every website that uses Cloudflare then that sounds like you're using the VPN for general browsing? Neutral

The VPN provider will have a nice record of everything you've been wanting to hide and it's anyones guess what they'll do with that information.

And to put a tin foil hat angle on it, there's no shortage of conspiracy theories about VPNs being honey pots.
