See if you can get a test ride on one of the sheds, they usually break down 10 miles up the road don't they?

Thnx for the replies, guys, nice to see you backing each other up.
Went to a kawasaki dealer in Bolton, itchy, if that's one of those you mentioned. It was packed on Sunday so felt a bit intimidated asking newbie questions. My mate felt the same and he builds cars!
I spotted an Ace Motorcycles in Macclesfield if anyone has had dealings with them.

To cut a long story short we have just been stung by this guy and are now receiving threatening phone calls off him saying we have 'done him' and we owe more money more than a week after purchasing our 2nd bike, the 1st one we took back because it was a death trap like many on here are claiming he sells.

When we took the 1st one back within the months warranty he would not give us what we paid for it back even though it clearly wasn't suitable for any rider let alone someone who had just passed their cbt, we were made to pay an extra fee to change so in all we've paid £1690 to take away a bike he says was up for sale at £1495 ( neither the 1st bike or the one we now have actually had prices on them ).

He has now phoned my Gf up threatening to come take away the bike if we do not pay the extra £200 pounds he thinks we owe, as a new rider Vince has completely knocked her confidence.
After reading through all this we feel bit more confident that he is clutching at straws here but could anyone give me anymore advice on this chap as he seems to have attracted a lot of attention in the past.
Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

If he contacts us again, i will be getting in touch with trading standards and watchdogs so any info or help would contribute towards that. Many thanks!

If they've paid cash, they might well be stuck with it if he refuses to refund their money. You could try to go through small claims, but he could just as easily wind up his company and start over, owing you nothing. Twats like Vinnie make their living doing that sort of shit. Hopefully you've paid with a Credit Card, or financed it, either with a specialist Finance company or with a loan intended for the purchase of a Bike.

thanks for the quick replies guys i wasn't expecting anything so soon, glad to see some people on Vinny Alert haha
we paid for the initial bike as bank transfer and 2 separate payments on card for swap over.
I went with the lines that if this how you feel vince come and collect the bike and transfer me the total money back. He said he would come take the bike anyway and we wouldnt be getting the full amount back. I had to end the convo before i got too wound up but we ending with us agreeing to disagree and him saying he would be contacting his solicitors . Doesn't a small claims case have to be of a value over £500 anyway or am i wrong?
I will try keep everyone updated, after reading everyones posts this morning we will not be giving up on this one so thanks!

Yes we have the new keepers slip ( green part ) and the owners handbook, but obviously he's supposed to send of the part of the new owners slip they both signed.
Been on the phone to citizens advice, they said that as far as there concerned if he wasn't happy with the deal he negotiated at the time then he wouldn't have let us take the vehicle. And the deal concludes when we take the bike which he was happy for us to do. Feeling abit more upbeat about it all now, thanks for everyones advice its much appreciated.

I wouldn't stress over it.

Block his number, write to DVLA (Swansea, SA99 1BA) and tell them that Vinny is the keeper of the 1st bike, and (if you don't get a new V5C after a few weeks) that you're the keeper of the 2nd.

If it wasn't for the fact he's threatening legal action i would be all up for going over mob style but for now we will just wait and see if his threats materialise.
I run a small business myself and when this has all blown over i will be showing him what the power of word of mouth can do to someones business, be it good or bad. He's got a Facebook and a website that can both easily be promoted in a bad light.

ps how do i change my status from L plate warrior? I've been riding a 1400 for nearly 2 years now so I'm far from l plates haha
