On question time tonight the panel were lining up to call Trump every insult they could think of. Sadly no one asked the politicians the one question I wanted to know....

If Trump gets elected to President, will you still say the same things to his face or just bend over?

I don't get all this Trump bashing tbh. Now general Repub bashing, I'd of course expect and understand.

Ted "Direct line to God" Cruz
Rubio: The most slippery little shit you could possibly think of.
Carson: I used to like him, but in recent months he has literally has gone nuts.
Jeb: .... probably going to kill himself in the coming weeks becauses daddy doesn't love him....

Trump is the best choice out of the Republican camp IMO. He also is the nearest bridge to the left being in favour of: gay rights, pro-choice, in favour of healthcare reform, high taxes on the rich.

The sweet, sweet irony is that some of the loudest Trump-bashers are lefties, who hate the Republican party. Yet for all their Trump-bashing, they might as well be shilling for the Republican party who absolutely loathe Trump.

Also ironic is that many of these people (the ones of my FB feed anyway) are the people that always say shit like "US isn't a democracy! The voting system is completely locked up by big interests", yet when an anti-establishment figure like Trump comes along they attack him...... They could at least say something like "Personally I think Trumps policies make him a massive dick, but it is nice to see the US establishment running scared for a change", but no they don't they just effectively shill for the GOP.

Look on it like professional rasslin'. It's just for funs, none of it matters.

Trump's a small l liberal, he's just riling up the swivel eyed loons who actually believe this stuff. As soon as he's sewn up the nomination he'll backpedal faster than Percy being asked to cite a source.

One thing thought: he's absolutely right that the Caliphate will come for Rome sooner or later.

Indeed IIRC he's been registered Dem up till the last 10 years or so

Laughing Laughing Laughing

Standard route-planning really. Pre-nomination you harvest the nutters to secure the nomination, then afterwards it is full-steam-ahead to the centre to pick up swing voters.

Good point. I must say when you look at the candidates web sites Trump dousent come across as nuts as he does on the telly. I agree with Roger that if he gets the nomination he'll roll back the caberet show. Depends then on if he can generate a sense of uniting his blue coller support with Democrats blue coller support to get the presidency. So far he's played on division which is easier than seeking to unite.

Trump takes North Carolina. Oh I'm loving this. It's got to be worth him winning just to see all the haters lining up to meet him when he comes to the UK as President.

I can't stand the guy, but I have to admit that he really is the true spirit of America, insofar as international relations are concerned.

I dare say he has....more insane ones too. All I can see is him pandering to the masses by telling them what he thinks they want to hear.......lying basically. Sure, they all do that....but he's left earth completely. I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to win back the black vote by announcing he's going to "kill all honkies" Laughing

I'm not sure having more ideas than Dianne Abbot says much either Eh? My toaster has more ideas than Dianne Abbot, and the back end of the local 107 bus is better looking Very Happy

You missed a "and my toaster is hotter" gag.

Huh, I just saw this.

tl;dr version - if Trump doesn't get a clear majority of delegate votes, then it goes to a sit-down convention where these "delegates" essentially get to pick the candidate. They are not bound to honour their party voters' choice.

As the establishment pet, Rubio is making noises that they should just sod off the popular vote and crown him over either Trump or Cruz.

But he'll be unpopular and lose the election? Doesn't matter, it's better to have a Hillary 3rd term than an anti-establishment non-centrist president.

And that's how democracy works. Yay!
