How do you do with bike without clock?
I had solar powered G-shock which I don't use any more, so I use it.

Oxford clock/thermometer which sticks on with Velcro.

Easier than trying to look at my watch while I'm riding.

I've never needed 1 in the past, so doesn't bother me if the bike has 1 or not

I just dont worry about it, dont need to know the time. If I need to get somewhere for a certain time Im either using my phone as satnav which displays time and ETA, or I know where Im going and roughly how long it takes me to get there so leave accordingly.

It's not easy to look at my watch wearing long glove either.

This one looks cool Thumbs Up

I don't always need one either. I often use one on longer touring to know when to take lunch, or to know how late it is when coming home at night.

One cons using solar powered watch is if I cover my bike and don't ride for a long time the battery goes flat and have to set the time again. So I must pick up the watch when I park it.

Yes, Android comes with google maps built in, iPhone with iMaps. Theres also tonnes of aftermarket satnav apps. I prefer google map on my iPhone as I think it works a little bit faster and displays instructions better, quite a few times with iMaps Ive been coming up to a weird junction and got no idea where the fuck to go because the app is slow or just shit at explaining.

ZX7R beat me to it. I just ride round in ever increasing speedy circles until time winds backwards. I saw it on Superman

On a serious note though, the thermometer/clock combo sounds ideal. I've wanted to know the temperature many many times

I'm trying something similar to that on one of my bikes at the moment. I prefer analogue to digital for clocks.

The main reason for me is knowing how I am doing relative to the level crossing closing times; if it's worth me winding it up a bit to beat it, or take it easy because it's going to be closed for the next five minutes anyway.

I find it more worrying knowing the temperature, it's sitting at 108°c and the fan still hasn't kicked in Neutral "I wonder if the fan actually wo" VZZZZZZZZZZ

Agreed, Id always have thought that knowing oil temp or oil pressure on a 4stroke is more important than coolant temp?

Anyway real bikes i.e not from this Millenium don't have clocks or sat navs and are all the better for it!

Oh I meant an outside temp gauge for road surface grip. My coolant temp gauge doesn't move Laughing

Prefer not having a clock on a bike. Less likely to think $hit I'm late and start riding like an idiot. Ignorance is bliss Wub

Hmmm... Not so sure on that one. I once missed the ferry by about 15 minutes as I was sure I had plenty of time, so stopped for a couple of smokes along the way. If my triumph had a clock, I'd have seen how close I was cutting it and spanked it a bit more to get there on time. Still, 3 hours in holyhead ferryport was fun. Not.

I had one of those cheapy bar mount clocks and it was kinetic so after every ride it would stop an hour later which was shit, lucky I bought a ambient temp gauge that fit the mount so use that and find it accurate. Have a phone bar mount so if I need to know the time I put my phone in it before setting off and use the sat nav

A clock, ey?

Never found a need or felt the need for one. Just another thing to take my focus off the road and look down at surely? If I need to get somewhere by a set time I'll either set of early allowing me to enjoy my ride at my own pace or if I'm pinched for time then I'll take the fastest route and filter.

Having a clock or watch on my bike / handlebars isn't going to get me anywhere any quicker it's just going to make me think less about the road and make me feel more in a rush.

Shocked
Even I know how to use smartphone satnav!

On the "clock issue" - I'm firmly in the school of Don't Need One. If a bike comes with one in place, then great, but its not a dealbreaker if I find a bike I like without one.

There are enough clocks around London that I pretty much don't need one.

Out of town, I don't really run by clockwork anyway Laughing
