The Suter V4 two stroke has been given permission to race at this years IOM TT! Cool

Article here:-

https://m.crash.net/motogp/news/226619/1/500cc-suter-enters-isle-of-man-tt.html

I'd like to see that!

Bottom of Bray Hill...maybe halfway down Sulby.
Would recommend a keepnet to catch the engine parts as it explodes. Razz

Aside; It's great that the TT allow non homogonated <<<You know what I mean.
WSBK have relaxed their rules too but not to the extent of the IOM.

Fugly looking thing innit.

With it's clothes on it has a certain 90's RF900 look.
EDIT: Scrap that, I thinks it's just the paint lines, looks more like the recent Norton efforts.

But PB mag had piece on it a while back, and naked, damn it was stunning!

Really look forward to the coverage, Whitham loves his 2-strokes (probably they all do), so it'll get some air time which is good.

I like the way it looks, it has a KTM RC8 flavour about it. Even better when not in the silver.

I've developed the horn a bit lately for the Honda NSR500v as raced with success by Joey Dunlop. Its less powerful than the V4's maybe 125bhp? But it looks as small and narrow as an NSR250 MC28, and what's probably something like 2x CR250 cylinders bolted to a set of cases, should give it some useably awesome midrange too.

I'll take one in Rothmans colours over the Sauter any day, but then again the NS500R v3 as raced by Gardner and Spencer would be even more sexual to me anyway!

BRANDING EVERYWHERE!

Could someone enlighten me as to what is aesthetically pleasing about brand names being splayed all over a bike?
I'm genuinely curious, Is it because it makes people feel like a GP or TT rider?

I'd take a plain coloured bike over REPSOL!!1 stickers any day.

People remember the brand or sponsor more than the name or model of the bike. Add to that, that the back in the day tobacco company liverys are and were the coolest ever colour schemes seen on bikes, means your wrong tbh!

Evocative of an era. To understand, watch "The Unrideables".

It was a time when racing was full of characters, they could speak their minds, the tracks were faster, the races were closer, the bikes were unforgiving and electronics were only a pipe dream.

Anyway, Ian Lougher has been confirmed to have one of the bikes for the TT.

https://www.crash.net/road-racing/news/227688/1/ian-lougher-to-race-500cc-suter-at-isle-of-man-tt.html

Hopefully they'll use the Spring Cup as a testing ground (I say selfishly). Michael Rutter has also been rumoured.

Halcyon Days - evocative of a past era, eternal sunshine, never ending summers, real men riding real bikes and all that.

Actually my point was that it looked better not in silver, the blue & white seems to break up the shape a bit.

As a noob, wanting to learn more, how will this be different to watch/experience compared to the other machinery? Just a different soundtrack?

Thanks. My only knowledge of 2 strokers is my friend who rode his first 7 years on an NSR125 and changed the oil ONCE in that time because he was poor. FFS Laughing
