I just have this bike and am wondering whether your clutch cable obscures the revcounter and if the seat pitches you forward.

thanks

PS In fact if you live near Ruislip would you mind if I came had a look at your bike as it would save me going to Jack Lilleys thanks

I don't have those problems.

What do you mean by 'the seat pitches you forward'?

It sounds a lot like PIRNIB to me.

Problem in Rider not in Bike

I can't seem to move back enough and it's very slightly tilted down. Not sure what PIRNIB means

He told you. Read the small print.
And get some stompgrip or similar and grip the tank tighter with your knees.

Like this?

Looks like the cable needs to be tucked under the lip of the top yolk.

Can't remember the last time I gave a fuck about what revs I was at... Laughing

Is it really that much of a problem?

Cheers for the pic.

On the cable no but was curious as it was a quirk on the old model as well.

On the seat yes as holding more tightly doesn't help. The position works when you are nailing it but not when filtering into London.

I just may get a 'normal' st seat.

Fit some then try gripping with your knees. That matte paint on those is very slippery, almost like non stick in saucepans.

set the blue flashing rev light to 500 rpm before the rev limiter, buy a loud can, when you see the lights change up

Stomp grips are only OK if you wear leathers every time you ride. Otherwise they'll dig into your legs!

My bike is literally in the dark unless I'm using it so I have no idea if the sun will discolour it. I'd expect not it's pretty
dear for what it is. There are other materials that work similarly but don't have such pronounced nipples.

It's half the price too but you have to cut it out yourself.

I thought the ST and STR shared seats. They are low at the front and deliberately slidey so you can move about. The issue is because of the different shock, the STR results in a 20mm higher seat that pitches you forward, coupled with the harder suspension and every manhole cover results in you trying to shag the tank.

The "High Comfort Seat" does not slope at the front, it's flat, adding 2 inches of foam. Consequently when you sit on it, it squishes and locks you in place, removing the plumb-tank-slamming ritual. Downside is, if you are spanking it round Brands it's much harder to shift around on the seat.
Worth having both maybe.

As for cabling, I'm 6ft2 and never had an issue with it Smile

Cable on mine had some play in it and I moved it a bit. Doesn't obscure the tacho/display at all.

Thanks I thought the normal ST had a different seat. I think I may just buy another seat and have a play with the foam. The triumph high comfort seat is a little too spendy and it's a bit of a risk

It did on the round eye model, the R had a gel seat.

My bike doesn't pitch me forward but the 2012 model makes you sit a little further away from the bars giving the impression of leaning forward.
Chuck your stats in here and you'll see what I mean.
