I'm sick of this inclement weather, I'm sick of being cooped up in an office, I'm sick of sitting in the house playing computer games.

I want a nice warm day with no salt, no rain or precipitation of any kind and a nice open road so I can go for a thrash.

Before all you hard-core year-round bikers comment, I've been there and done it. I can afford not to nowadays, and I use the car. Biking in the wet goes from a life affirming amazing experience, to a miserable butt clenching method of transport at best.

I want the smell of cut grass to mingle with rubber and burning petrol. I want to use the dark visor because of bright sunlight, not because of a low sun. I want my tyres to work properly because the tarmac is the right temperature. I'm aching to investigate the top end of the rev range on my Street Triple. I'm aching to get more than a few degrees of lean and not feel like I'm going to slip on some diesel. I'm aching to not have to have the bikes on the Optimate for a while.

Roll on spring!

Despite being an "all-weather-biker" and that this winter has been rather mild, it hasn't been dry.

Due to the darkness of the days there's not been much reason to go out for a blast at the weekends.

I need summer to come so I can put some jolly miles on the bike rather than just commuting miles.

Yep, I hear you MarJay. Down here the weather hasn't been too bad during the week, but on the weekends when I have time to go out, the weather is ruddy horrific.

Laughing wut?

It's been astonishingly mild this winter. Yay, global warming. Almost no snow, even my elevated microclimate has only had a few icy mornings. Daytime wind speed has produced a few soiled undies, but rain? Pffft, it washes roads and visors. What other method of transport gives you sartorial license to be in a fully sealed waterproof environment door to door?

Oh NO you dih-uhn't.

It's a full 8 degrees and sunny up here. Because I rode in today rather than finding reasons not to, I'm going to have a blast on the way home. I'll be thinking of you - I may even scream your name. Wink

Less QQ, more vroom-vroom.

I don't understand.

Owns a bike, wants to go out on bike but wont because it's a little damp.

You can't want to go out that much if you wont go out on it with slightly damp roads. Stop making excuses...

This. While I can go out in the shit weather it's much more enjoyable when the weather's nice. I want to go out on the nice bike not my shed.

Only a month to go though, I reckon. Mid-end March normally has some nice days Thumbs Up

Agreed. I use the bike every day, rain or shine ... but I sure am looking forward to some warm dry days!

I told myself the bike was going away in October and not coming out till March.

It did go away.. But I've been out on it for a blast maybe 4 times since the new year, where I've woken to surprisingly warm and sunny weather.

Summer is just round the corner.. Kinda..

Yeah I need to ride. X5 is close to MOT and the 1100 can be used for commuting once the weather suits my liking, hopefully during March.

The weather forecast here has been as reliable as a Ducati 748 spannered by Bodytard recently...

There are a few games I'm looking forward to playing on the PS4, I have been enjoying a few cinema trips recently too, as well as working on the bikes a little when the weather's been murky and dull outside..

...but so looking forward to a decent spell of sunshine. Unfortunately, a fair few of these recently have occurred when stuck at work. The daily commute just doesn't cut it.

Hmph.

Clock's change soon right?

MarJay for Prime Minister!

Each year Winter seems to get longer and longer. I get fed up with the 3 hours of clothing and de-clothing that happens either end of the journey.
I get fed up with not being able to see from all the rain + light refractions off my scuffed visor. Tyred of the freezing cold and the bellends who can't see me.

That said, there are some positives.

PR4 tyres seem to love the damp, maybe keeps them cooler for longer and stops the pressure rising, I don't know. But for whatever reason, if it's wet but above 7c (and there's been a lot of that) I can spank the feck out the SV. And early doors, or during crappy weather, traffic is lighter and what is there, is easy prey.
Only now the tyres are squirming a little and your hunting, hunting for that edge grip.

Case in point, went out on the A3 for 20 miles at 8am Sunday. About 10 cars. Gave the SV stick and had fun through the crests / falls and long corners through the outskirts of Guildford.

Don't get me wrong, I aint no Rossi! Just saying there is fun to be had now the tyres are so good in the wet / damp. The added risk and reduced traffic just adds to it......I should probably stop thinking like that.

Would I have tried the same things on BT021's, hell no!
