Hello. Been restoring a Yamaha XS250 to use as a back up bike,having a problem with the white generator wires,there are 4 coming from the stator but only three are in use according to the manual and and only three go to the rectifier/ regulator unit. So how do I identify which three to use as they all give the same reading on the multimeter. PO cut plug of the harness so no going there.

from memory these had feedback from the regulator, a rotating mag field rotor, with coil, ala lucus acr series but field feedback ( feed to ) achieved by the rotating ( transformer ) like a video. there should be a wiring diagram on here, think I have a manual at home, carl?
