Had to look that up in the country bumpkin dictionary.

Too late anyway, we already know about the Atlantic Highway.

"Devon spelling". Bridgwater, Barnstaple.
Yeah, it's better after Minehead. And would be way better with no double whites along it's entire section. And less the bloody 25mph motorhomes.

I've been wanting to do this stretch since I got my ybr in September, but the it's a decent journey from the Peak District even if you can use the motorways (which I can't with L plates and wouldn't want to on a 125).
Hopefully the forecast for Easter will be decent and I can do a 2 day lazy frequent stop ride down with a loop or two of Exmoor.

Looking at google maps it certainly does look worth a visit, anyone recommend a decent (read cheap & decent parking) B&B in the general area ?

I was planning to head that way over the Easter weekend, perhaps revisit Exmoor and the surroundings again. My first bike trip was down there and up to Snowdonia

I did a very similar journey to this last year. Totally recommend it. Porlock Hill is rather fun.
