Hi all!
I am new here, hello! Smile

I am about to pick up my new Leonart Daytona 125cc (called AJS/Regal Raptor in the UK I believe).

One of the first things I want to change is the sound. Therefor I am looking at new mufflers. I've seen a few video's on YouTube of nice mufflers, but I can never find anyone selling them.

Examples:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaO7G-r7jRY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHXC8aQruwY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5az_Yxl9uhk

So I hope someone in here can help a new rider out! Smile
Basically I want to make my new Daytona 125 sound as deep and "Harley like" as possible.

Thanks!

Well, that was helpful! Rolling Eyes
Guys, I realize it's a 125 and it's NOT a Harley. Wink If you check some of the video's I link, it's quite clear that you can change the sound a lot.

But hey, if you won't help out a new rider. Smile

The camera microphone makes it sound cool, but it is not. Open exhaust like that will also completely change the characteristics of the engine. You're gonna loose the bottom and mid range torque completely. Oh, and the performance will be worse (it's expected) and the fuel economy might get worse as well. The last bit of this mod, without rejetting the carbs it'll run lean.

If you want such ''mods'', just drill the exhaust you have, don't waste money. IF you can take the exhaust mufflers/silencers off without cutting, try that first to get an idea.

We, BCF, know stuff.

OP, you haven't got your 125 yet, so how about you tuck that swinging banana back in its hammock?

Run a straight through pipe if you like, but in the real world, to real ears, your bike will still sound exactly like what it is: a 4 stroke 125.

Go ahead, spend your Europennies. It'll sound great to you. To everyone else, it'll sound like someone dying of explosive diarrhoea. No other biker will be fooled.

The bikes in those videos started up without problems so will be running overly rich at idle. Once they're hot, they'll foul their plugs and stall when they come off the throttle. On the throttle, they'll likely be running lean, down on power, and overheating.

We've been there, we've tried that, it doesn't work. A small capacity low compression engine can't be transformed with a fat pipe or by binning the airbox.

But the world is changed by people who rejected conventional wisdom, so you go, girl. Spend whatever it takes to show us that we're wrong!
