So, that's ''original''. Anyway, it's a small series custom job motorcycle from Czech rep. 25 motorcycles to be sold, 5000 man hours of development and testing. Designed by Roman Šimcík, built by FERAT Engineering - FSB Motor Works.
The name Ferat comes from a classic Czech horror film from 1981: Ferat Vampire. In this film there was a race car that ran on blood and was called Ferat, or Škoda Ferat (scroll down to see the car).

Dry weight 162 kg (Diavel 210kg), the engine is a Ducati Testastretta II (1198 ccm, 162hp) with modified (own design) intake manifold and custom made exhaust system and ECU, 3 fuel maps: City, Road and Race, quickshifter and ABS. The designer of the motorcycle decided not to include the TCS and launch control because he says it wouldn't fit the design/focus of this motorcycle. But, if you want (pay them), they can fit any electronic aid system you want, plus they can even fit a turbocharged to boost the power output from 169hp to 230hp. The top speed of the basic model is 270 kph and I do believe that even with 230hp they won't change the gearing.

The frame is a modified Diavel frame, with modified Öhlins suspension system with Brembo calipers and BrakeTech U.S.A. brake discs. The wheels are custom made, all carbon fiber composite, road legal. Carbon fiber composite was used all around the motorcycle in order to keep the motorcycle as light as possible.

Now, the important stuff:
Price of the basic model is €75,000 with out VAT (Stock Diavel goes for around €17,590 with VAT). Delivery time is about 9 months.
4 years warranty and servicing can be done in any licensed Ducati dealership and shops. For the complicated parts of the motorcycle you're gonna have to contact the company that made the Ferat 2 and they'll travell to you with all the tools and stuff they need to fix it. 90% of all the bolts, nuts, screws and clamps... is made of titanium.

Looking at that tank, I can think of an alternative name for it: the Emasculator.

Interesting stuff, looks like top quality engineering, but not my cup of tea Eh?

Any new developments on the Jawa front?

Nothing new. The last ''big news'' was the Jawa 1000 (01/2015) and shortly after that Jawa announced they're gonna produce some of their very famous 350/640's and other cheap, yet reliable and easy to fix two stroke motorcycles in Mongolia. They already produce their motorcycles in India, Egypt and Cuba. At least that's what they claim. Thinking

I think the Jawa 1000 project is dead, but who knows. We weren't expecting the Jawa 650 and then 660 series either. Thumbs Up
The problem is, Jawa has very balanced budget, sometimes even in deficit and the Gov. can't put anymore money into it, as their support is limited by the public's opinion about putting the taxpayers money into a private company. I do know Jawa got a grant for the Jawa 1000 project, but I doubt they are gonna get anymore money and there are no new investors.

Even if the Gov. wanted to put millions and millions of pounds into the company, they can not, as that would be a unlawful state aid, forbidden by the EU law. Which is alright I guess, it wouldn't be fair if a private company had such pocket money, especially when we are talking about tax payers money who give a crap about an motorcycle company.

Ok Mr Rhino , here`s what I want you to do.

I want you to go personally to Jawa/CZ and instigate a older bike spares programme, just like Suzuki did for their older bikes.
And then get them to set up some new outlets in the UK.

That way I will feel more comfortable buying an older Jawa/CZ

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Laughing

There are quite a lot Czech sites with spares for Jawas and CZs and they've got it all, you name it. Wheels, spokes, bearings, complete engines, all the engine parts, gearboxes, carburetors, filters, cables, all the rubber bits of your motorcycle, all the electronic bits, seats, fenders, tanks, frames...
Many of those bits are old-new stock, and others are top notch replicas of the original parts. And not only that of course, there are even modern ignition system conversions, 6 to 12v conversion kits and so on.

This one is alright (english): https://www.jawamarkt.cz/en/new-parts
But if you knew some Czech, there are better places. The prices are quite the same. Outlets are not cool anymore, there are some in Czech rep. but they mostly have to order most of the stuff you go there to buy. Can't blame them, not many people ride Jawas and CZs anymore.

I'm still waiting for my perfect CZ150c deal, but so far people ask way too much for a pile of scrap metal in boxes.

My thoughts exactly, well I wouldn't buy a Ducati, but the idea of having the original and about €60k in the pocket seems to be the better option.

€72k after tax, total price will be €90k at 20%.

If you've got that much money to spend, why not pay someone to produce an actually unique bike to your own specification?

Oh, right, because it'll be worth less than a stock model, just like every other anodised abortion on eBay.

I wonder what the aftermarket for these Ferats will be like?
