Is it just me or does the majority of pitbikes/peds or anything owed by the younger generation seem to have a snapped throttle cable.

I work with these lads 5 days a week teaching bike mechanics and its unreal how many bikes i've seen with this issue.

Im not exactly old and wise myself but its unreal!

The only conclusion i can come to, is that people think a bike goes faster if you twist the throttle as hard as humanly possible...

If the wire's not tight, you're not winning.

Also, Chinese solder.

I wonder how many engines self-destruct after trying to run on the carb-slide barrel nipple?

Exactly. If the bike has a throttle stop then you wouldn't be tugging on the cable. Probably not adjusting correctly or corroded. There cheap bikes that have not been looked after.
